Hidden Gems: Meet Sergio Guerrero of Mariscos La Carreta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sergio Guerrero

Sergio, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I always had a passion for cooking ever since I was a kid. In 2020, during the pandemic, I started selling seafood from my kitchen at home in LA and I had tremendous success! I came to visit my family in Austin and I noticed that there weren’t too many seafood spots out here with my style and with the support of my family I decided to give it a try and moved out here. I started having pop ups here and there and . With the help of my brother Marco we bought a little food trailer and We’ve been gaining more and more customers thanks to our fresh food, amazing presentation, and excellent customer service.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I definitely had some struggles in building our food trailer and getting all of our permits. I also struggled at the beginning because no one knew me out here

As you know, we’re big fans of Mariscos La Carreta . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in seafood and are known mostly for our aguachile & ceviche. What sets us apart from others is the quality, taste, and over all presentation. We prepare all our food fresh with the best ingredients. Although we are a mobile food truck we strive to give the best experience. I am mostly proud that we are serving the best seafood in Austin when it comes to taste & presentation. I want the readers to know that when visiting we will strive our best to give the best food & service in the Austin area. We are backed up by 50 5 star reviews. We also offer catering

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Wouldn’t call it luck but thanks to our hard work and dedication, once customers taste our food they keep coming back & also recommend our food to others
