Daniel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We opened summer of 2017. Started off just buying sneakers and thrifting for my personal collection. Our first location was only 300sqft in East austin and we grew from there being the first shop in austin the provided vintage sneakers and Streetwear. We have now been open 7 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being a small business and first time business owner was a struggle in the beginning learning the ins and outs of running a business but doing what I love has always made it better.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Stax Austin?
We are Austin’s first and only vintage sneaker and Streetwear shop. We specialize and bringing Austin all the latest trends in fashion. We buy sell trade everyday. You can always come into the shop with your old or lightly used sneakers and clothing and sell or trade for new clothing. We have also been putting a big focus on our own clothing brand this past year doing seasonal drops that have been doing great.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
With fashion it is constantly changing. When we first opened vintage was just starting to grow a community and since we have been open it has rapidly grown and the vintage and Streetwear fashion will continue to keep growing with social media and people wanting to separate themself with 1 of 1 pieces.
