Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathaly Jaimes
Hi Nathaly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
GBJB’s was established in 2010, but our family bought the business in 2013. We have always been fanatics of snow cones & on a hunt for delicious stands, one day my dad let us know he found a new snow cone stand he’d like us to try out. I remember being hesitant at first, but after trying them I fell in love. My dad asked if we liked the taste & we all nodded yes as we took a spoonful of our snow cone, and he said “good, because I bought the stand for us”. Eleven years later, we still stand strong in the original spot and have recently expanded to catering services. It has been amazing to help my parents grow their small business and see so many clients return year after year, as well as form close relationships with so many of them who have seen my siblings and I grow up!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As first time business owners, the first year was a lot of lessons learned with obtaining permits and learning how to properly make the snow cones. The stand had already been running for three years and we were scared to mess up recipes or lose clients if we didn’t deliver what had already been in place for a few years
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re proud to serve a large variety of flavors, 52 to be exact, and we’re commonly known for cheap prices and large quantity. Our flavors are made fresh daily with pure cane sugar & our natural flavors are our most popular across customers. We have cream, chamoy, chili powder, whipped cream, & chocolate syrup as options for toppings; and my favorite option, a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom. Our focus for 2025 is to increase our catering services and possibly start driving around Austin & park out to offer our delicious snow cones!
