Today we’d like to introduce you to Deshawn Carr
Hi deshawn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story comes in three stages. The first stage is about a kid who doesn’t know what his future has in store for him. The second stage of my story is about a middle school student who finds true passion of cooking and realizes that he wants to be a baker while learning about life. The current stage of my story is about understanding the journey, the ups the downs while moving with god.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been both smooth and rocky on my journey. From getting orders on orders one month, and not hearing a thing the next month, to balancing a 9-to-5 and Deshawn’s Delights all in one hand. To working my social media present and marking.
It can be a lot, but seeing people happy from my craft and helping them create memories, reaching my goals, reaching more people, and being reached out makes the rocky journey smoother and worth it.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Deshawn’s Delights helps people create memories, by creating great products such as cakes, cookies, etc. and even dessert table. Deshawn’s Delights is beginning to be known for catering events such as graduation parties, work events, workshops, birthdays and slowly but surely weddings. Which all I’m most proud of.
So for anyone that something as simple as a cake or as big as special event I’m the guy.
What’s next?
Next year I want to aim for farmers markets were I can be face to face to the customer and increase the word to mouth. Also tackling holidays like valentine, 4th of July etc. But the biggest change is moving from my job and be full-time for Deshawn’s Delights.
