Meet Kate Vyvial of Clover’s Mark LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Vyvial

Hi Kate, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Kate Vyvial, and I have always relied on creativity as a way to relax after a long day. As a child, I enjoyed scrapbooking to capture the world around me, and as I grew older, I enjoyed in crafting handmade cards for loved ones and crocheting. Throughout my life, I have embraced new experiences and expanded my knowledge in anything crafty. However, everything changed when my mother and mother-in-law inspired me to explore sewing and embroidery.

I was lucky enough to inherit an antique Singer Featherweight sewing machine from the 1940s. Initially, I was unsure if I would use it, I decided to take a chance and began creating blankets, bags, pillows, and more for my kids. Then, I made a bold move and invested in my first embroidery machine. What started as a fun hobby quickly blossomed into a deep passion. I took another leap and began sharing this enthusiasm with families in my community, aiming to connect and leave a positive mark. After all, who doesn’t appreciate a meaningful, personalized embroidered item?
I truly believe that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the unwavering support of my family. Additionally, I am surrounded by an incredible group of friends who constantly inspire and motivate me to become a better version of myself. Always invest in yourself, take risks and surround yourself with people who bring positivity to your life; this will ensure continuous growth and the achievement of great things.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, it hasn’t been easy, but that’s what makes it exciting, right?! Alongside Clover’s Mark, I’m also a full-time mom to two young kids and a full-time User Experience Designer. Finding the time and energy to focus on Clover’s Mark during evenings and weekends is a constant challenge. People often ask me how I manage to do it all; honestly, I’m not entirely sure, but my passion for creating beautiful embroidered items keeps driving me forward.

At times, I struggle with feelings of inadequacy regarding my creativity and ability to run my own business. However, I firmly believe that the best way to learn and grow is by confronting challenges head-on rather than taking the easy route. Each day, I remind myself to prioritize progress over perfection—though I must admit, I tend to be a perfectionist with an eye for detail.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t really think luck—good or bad—has been the main force behind Clover’s Mark. Sure, inheriting that unexpected sewing machine was a lucky break that kick-started things for me. But honestly, it’s the unwavering support from my family and friends, especially my husband, kids, and parents, that’s really given me the confidence to go after my dreams.

Balancing my roles as a mom, a User Experience Designer, and an entrepreneur has been a bit of a juggling act, but it’s made me more resilient and creative. So, while luck might have played a small part, it’s my determination and the solid support I have that have truly driven Clover’s Mark to where it is now. I’ve learned to embrace all the highs and lows along the way.
