Hi Britt , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, I discovered my passion for the beauty industry by completing a cosmetology program during high school and obtaining my license at 18. My career trajectory took an exciting turn when lash extensions became popular, prompting me to further my education at Ann Webb Skin Institute.
As a certified laser technician and cosmetologist, I caught the attention of Ann Webb herself, who recognized my potential and brought me on as one of her “Beauty Gurus”. During this time, I expanded my expertise in skincare and facial treatments, learning from a renowned medical esthetician. While also building my lash business practically working 7 days a week, even offering mobile services. I decided
In 2015, it was time to take a bold step and launched my own business, leveraging the relationships and reputation I had carefully built in the beauty industry. Becoming an entrepreneur has been a testament to my dedication, with successfully growing and thriving for nearly a decade.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been smooth, I worked every single day for the first several years. I would see clients after hours, on my days off, etc. What I will say is I got in to the industry at a great time, before the influx of lash artist, beauty entrepreneurs, and lash companies. so it was a little bit easier getting my name out there and getting referred out. I thankfully just followed my heart & intuition and have had 0 regrets thus far.
We’ve been impressed with Brit’s Beauty Spa , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The best part of working for myself is I get to hone in on the things that I really enjoy in the beauty industry and only offer the services that I personally am passionate about and enjoy. I offer Eyelash Extensions. Lash lifts, Brow, and Lash Tinting, & all kinds of Facial services and Spray Tans. I pride myself in using mostly organic products in this industry and being as holistic as possible. I pride myself on offering my clients, a sacred, relaxing, extremely safe space to be open and be themselves to feel cared for and cherished, and most importantly heard. I consider myself to be a healer/therapist and truly feel blessed to wake up every day getting to do what I love & pamper the good people of Austin!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Running on time, not being flaky. understanding what the client wants ( client consultation) creating a safe space, a comfortable/relaxing space and actually becoming friends with each person that I meet. I never want my clients to feel like cattle or just a number. Everyone of them is super important to me.
