Check Out Ayanna Love’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayanna Love

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Houston, Texas I was homeschooled and discovered an innate ability to compose and perform music, specifically classical pieces. As a young child I was in several theatre performances and a member of the community choir. After I left my home roots I attended college in Austin,TX where I found myself working as a stripper and needed to develop an outlet for experiences I believed only myself lived. By performing at local open-mics, networking with well known producers and continuing my education, I began to fully invest in my passion of living and expressing my truth, through music. I initially started creating raps because that was what my environment promoted. But as I found my voice and learned more about myself I understood that my natural melodic voice is necessary to express the challenges I found myself overcoming.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road has been a learning experience. I’ve learned that with anything you have to be consistent. I support all of my productions solely so any relationships, performances, media I am responsible for. Although I do have supporters I feel that I am finding more difficulty in debating how transparent I want to be for those who listen to me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a Behavioral Therapist and work with individuals diagnosed with autism. I do have my masters in Health Psychology but I believe I did it to prove I could. I have always been interested in the human mind and working in the customer service field in the club has only esteemed that interest.

What does success mean to you?
I use to define success by quantity but I think at this grown age success to me is about being respected and being at peace with your truth and yourself. Being emotional, creatively, and self-disciplined is great success and can create a ripple effect of financial or tangible success.
