Daily Inspiration: Meet Stephanie And Bradley Rogers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie And Bradley Rogers

Hi Stephanie and Bradley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When we got married in 2010 we decided to buy a camera for our honeymoon in Chicago. We enjoyed taking photos during our trip and the many ‘in the moment’ photos that captured our emotions. Once we got back from our honeymoon, we received our wedding photos a few weeks later. To our surprise, our photos taken as hobby photographers were better than the wedding photos. That was the light bulb moment that Stephanie needed to realize that this was what she wanted to do as a career, and officially launched our brand in 2011 with Bradley joining three years later. After over a decade of photographing weddings, we still love connecting with new people every weekend, learning about what makes their relationship unique, and documenting the celebration with their loved ones.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A unique challenge that we’ve encountered in our business is that we’re not just business partners, but life partners as well. In the beginning we had to figure out how to blend our perspectives and ways of doing things into something singular, without hurting feelings or taking things too personally. Fortunately, we found that any gains we made working on our business or personal relationship was equally beneficial to the other. Being relationally-minded has also helped us be more in tune with the needs and dynamics in our couples and is one of our greatest assets.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We specialize in wedding photography with an emphasis on candid, true to life moments with the community surrounding our couples. Our goal is to create a space where people can be fully present with their loved ones so their images can reflect the true emotions of the day. We also bring a spirit of excitement and supportiveness into our work so couples can celebrate in a way that feels authentic to them. This is something we have been so proud of cultivating over the years as our goal is for couples to feel they can have a relaxing wedding celebration in the ways they want to celebrate. Not what is expected of them.

One of the ways that sets us apart from other wedding photographers is being a husband and wife team. We’re really in tune with each other since we’ve been married since 2010 and running a business together since 2014. We both take our own unique approach to our work while creating a cohesive and consistent experience for our couples. Our expertise also provides a stress-free planning process and encourages couples to stay focused on the things that matter most to them!

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
After photographing hundreds of weddings over the years, we recommend couples who are planning on getting married to sit down together and get in tune with how they want to celebrate. It’s important to remove the noise of others opinions and figure out how you want to look back on your wedding day 5, 10, or 20+ years from now. Whether you want to get married at the courthouse, adventure out in the mountains with just you two, celebrate with 100+ family and friends, party in your backyard, or any other way, it’s completely valid. Whichever way you decide is going to be what YOU remember for the years to come.
