Rising Stars: Meet Louren Suarez of Austin, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Louren Suarez

Hi Louren, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a proud first-generation Latina with roots in Honduras, my journey has been shaped by resilience, curiosity, and ambition. With a double major in Information Systems and Cybersecurity from the University of Texas at San Antonio, I’ve found my passion at the intersection of technology and problem-solving. Born and raised in Houston, I have been living in Austin for over two years, a city that has fueled both my personal and professional growth while becoming a place I’ve truly fallen in love with.

My professional journey began with impactful projects and opportunities that allowed me to connect with diverse teams, products, and leadership, ultimately honing my technical expertise and strategic thinking. Now specializing in product management, I combine those skills to drive innovation and deliver meaningful solutions.

Beyond my professional role, I’m passionate about content creation aimed at empowering and inspiring women—especially women of color—to thrive in the tech industry. Through storytelling, personal insights, and authentic advice, I use my platforms to demystify the tech space, share lessons learned, and provide practical guidance on navigating careers in technology. Whether I’m discussing my experiences in product management or creative pursuits, my goal is to build a supportive community where women feel confident and empowered to pursue their dreams.

To foster collaboration and creativity in Austin’s growing tech scene, I co-founded TECH HAUS ATX, alongside Rebecca Richard, a community space designed for tech professionals to share ideas, build friendships, and have a great time. It’s an environment for individuals to thrive both personally and professionally.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path hasn’t always been easy. Moving to a new city brought its own set of challenges—from building a new community to navigating unfamiliar spaces. Working in a male-dominated field often required me to assert my voice and confidence in rooms where I was the only woman or Latina present. Additionally, learning to navigate financial literacy was a crucial step in setting myself up for long-term success. Understanding budgets, investments, and savings didn’t come naturally but has become a fundamental part of my personal growth and stability.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I truly enjoy sharing my life and capturing meaningful moments with my loved ones, which is why content creation has become such a rewarding outlet for me. It allows me to not only document my journey but also share valuable insights and experiences as I navigate the tech industry.

One of my proudest accomplishments has been stepping outside of my comfort zone to co-found Tech Haus ATX. I see it become a space where women and allies in Austin’s tech community can connect, have fun, and build genuine relationships. With so much happening in the tech world, it’s important to create opportunities to unplug and enjoy the vibrant city we call home through engaging and creative events.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I would say creativity has been the most important quality to my success. Starting full-time after my undergrad career was amazing but I was also navigating a new side of myself. I was left with extra time that I found myself creating content and enjoying every second of it. That was truly when my creativity would flourish.
