Today we’d like to introduce you to Alissa Cordoba
Hi Alissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It sounds sappy, but I always knew I wanted to be a photographer! I wasn’t always sure what kind, but I knew being behind the camera brought me total joy. I went to school for business so that I could learn how to properly run one.
After finishing school in Minnesota, I moved to Austin, TX so start Alissa Cordoba Photography. Thirteen years later and I can say I’m so proud of where I came from and where I am now!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! I was 22 when I first started and trying to make it happen on my own, on a tight budget! This was before social media really took off, so I relied heavily on clients finding me through my website and word of mouth. I think the biggest challenge for me has been working hard to evolve with the industry, always making sure I’m providing the best client experience possible and navigating the world of small business ownership.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer based in Austin, Texas, specializing in in-home newborn and family photography and brand photography for small-large businesses. My style is bright and natural, with a focus on capturing real, everyday moments. I am most known for my use of light, and true to life editing.
I’ve been doing this for over 12 years, and what I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with clients to tell their stories in an honest way—whether it’s documenting a family’s life at home or creating imagery that helps a business connect with its audience. I love the relationships I’ve been able to build and how the service I provide can truly make a difference.
What sets me apart from other photographers is my ability to make sessions feel easy and personal while still bringing experience and intention to everything I do.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality that’s been most important to my success is my drive and refusal to accept anything less than excellent. I set high standards for myself and my work, and I’m always striving to grow, improve, and deliver the best experience possible for my clients. That constant push keeps me motivated and helps me create work I’m truly proud of.
