Grace In Motion, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Grace in Motion ATX started as a simple idea—what if we could bring together our love for Latin dance, our faith in Jesus, and our heart for community service? What if dancing wasn’t just about movement but also about connection, generosity, and making a difference?
It all began with a group of friends who shared these passions, and before we knew it, we weren’t just dancing together—we were doing life together. We realized that beyond the dance floor, we had an opportunity to serve our city in unique ways. We realize that within our group, we all have very unique and distinct gifts to use to serve our community. So, we started hosting Latin dance socials, not just as a place to have fun, but as a way to create a welcoming space where people could come together, build friendships, and contribute to meaningful causes.
From there, our vision grew. We see a need to support local creatives, small businesses, and other nonprofits. We also recognize a need to raise awareness to various causes and take action in order to see improvement in our communities. These events celebrate the talents in our community while also incorporating initiatives for other give-back opportunities.
Grace in Motion ATX is more than just a dance group—it’s a movement of people who believe in the power of joy, community, and faith in action. Our journey is still unfolding, but at the heart of it all is a simple mission: to love people well and to make a positive impact, one dance, one event, and one act of kindness at a time.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has been anything but smooth, but that’s what makes the journey meaningful. Running Grace in Motion ATX as a volunteer-based nonprofit means that everything we do is fueled by passion, faith, and a heart to serve—not by financial incentives. While that’s incredibly rewarding, it also comes with its own set of challenges.
One of the biggest struggles is constantly finding vendors and volunteers who share our vision and have the capacity to commit. We want to create events that serve the community well, but that requires people willing to step up and give their time and talents freely. It takes a lot of mental and emotional energy to keep pouring into something selflessly, and we always have to remind ourselves of why we do this.
Logistics can also be tricky—outreach, community involvement, structuring roles, and making sure our team doesn’t hit burnout. Since we’re all volunteers, we have to be intentional about making sure everyone feels valued and not overextended. Balancing the work while keeping the joy and passion alive is an ongoing effort.
Another area we’re learning to navigate is marketing. Figuring out the best ways to spread the word and grow our reach has been a new challenge, but what’s been amazing is the overwhelming support we’ve received. We have so many people who believe in what we’re doing, and we’re seeing an influx of people and organizations wanting to partner with us. That’s been humbling and exciting.
The one thing we stand strong on, though, is that we will never compromise our purpose. If an opportunity doesn’t align with our mission—loving people and serving our community—we won’t pursue it. At the end of the day, it’s not about just growing bigger; it’s about staying true to why we started in the first place.

At Grace in Motion ATX, we are a community of people who love Jesus and believe in using our gifts to bring people together and give back. Our mission is simple but powerful—combining faith and service to create meaningful experiences that foster connection and impact lives.
We specialize in hosting events that blend fun, community, and purpose. Whether it’s through dance, creative markets, or other gatherings, we strive to create spaces where people can connect, feel welcomed, and support something meaningful. Our events aren’t just about entertainment; they’re about building relationships, celebrating local talent, and giving back in ways that uplift both individuals and the greater community.
What sets us apart is our heart behind everything we do. We’re not just an event group—we’re a movement centered on love, faith, and service. We don’t do this for profit; we do it because we genuinely believe in making a difference. We differ from other organizations because we focus on relationships, generosity, and creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and loved.
One of the things we’re most proud of is the way our community has grown—not just in numbers, but in depth. The amount of support we’ve received has been incredible. We’ve had people step up to volunteer, businesses wanting to collaborate, and new dancers who come for the social aspect but stay because they’ve found a family.
At the core of it all, Grace in Motion ATX exists to remind people that joy, connection, and faith go hand in hand. Whether it’s through a dance, a conversation, or a community project, we want to be a light—showing that serving others can be just as fulfilling as having fun. And when you combine the two? That’s where the real magic happens.
As far as our team goes, our team consists of a talented group of creatives and entrepreneurs. Our day to day jobs vary – going from ministry, insurance, marketing, non-profit work, finance, education, and business! A lot of our team members are inspired to start their own businesses as well.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I feel that we do our best to grow by finding ways to incorporate the community in our decision making. We really value any feedback we gain from our community and strive to do our best at consistently working on ways to improve. With our team having various backgrounds in all types of work – we all bring a special insight into how our work is done!
