Meet Jess Gonzalez of HAIRPLAY STUDIO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jess Gonzalez

Hi Jess, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a very young girl, I knew exactly what I wanted to be—three things: a choreographer, a hairstylist, and a fashion designer. Growing up in a small town—Georgetown, Texas to be exact—I had big dreams and an even bigger imagination.

Life took a few unexpected turns, and I became a young mom. Things got a little tough, and my path didn’t always look how I thought it would. But one thing about me—I never gave up. I kept pushing, kept creating, and kept chasing the life I always saw for myself.

Now, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I know there’s so much more ahead. This is only the beginning.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As a salon suite owner, I’ve navigated the real challenges of small business ownership—from building a loyal clientele and managing finances to staying current in a fast-paced industry. Every setback has been a setup for growth. I’ve created a space where beauty meets resilience—and every client leaves feeling both.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about HAIRPLAY STUDIO ?
My business is all about beauty, confidence, and creating an experience—not just a service. I specialize in pixie cuts, vivid colors, blondes, perms, men’s cutting, and women’s cuts. I’ll be adding hair extensions and men’s hair systems this summer. I’ve built a brand that focuses on quality, consistency, and client connection.

What sets me apart is the intentional vibe I create—every client that walks through my door feels seen, heard, and taken care of. It’s not just about looking good, it’s about feeling good too. I bring both skill and authenticity to the table, and that combination is what keeps people coming back.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the atmosphere I’ve created. It’s professional, but it’s also personal. I’ve built something from the ground up that reflects who I am, and that energy is felt in everything—from the way I work, to the way I treat people.

What I want readers to know is: this is more than just a business. It’s a space where creativity, confidence, and care all come together. And we’re only going up from here.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to trust myself and my timing. It’s easy to compare your path to others or feel like you’re falling behind, but I’ve realized that everything happens exactly when and how it’s supposed to—especially when you stay focused, stay true to who you are, and keep showing up.

I’ve also learned that growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s in the quiet moments, the tough decisions, or the times you choose discipline over comfort. That’s where the real elevation happens.
