Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Dever.
Hi Kelly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My true “why” has always been helping other moms. After leaving the workforce myself to raise children, I was surprised by the overwhelming feeling of a never-ending to-do list and a crippling sense of isolation. I knew I wasn’t the only one feeling this way, and I wanted to help others find moments of relief. I decided to open a membership-based brick-and-mortar business in Buffalo, NY, offering various self-care amenities under one roof. However, the pandemic forced that business to close, and my family relocated to Austin.
Starting over felt daunting, but my passion for helping moms persisted. I experimented with a few ideas, but the turning point came when I began responding to Facebook posts from moms desperate for assistance with their overwhelming to-do lists. Recognizing a clear need, I started offering personal assistant services. Eventually, this evolved into my current focus: organizing homes and creating practical systems to help moms manage daily chaos.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Once I became clear on the path I wanted to take, the journey has been fairly smooth. The biggest challenge I’ve encountered is helping moms overcome their hesitation to ask for the support they truly need.
We’ve been impressed with Your Right Hand Mom , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business specializes in helping busy moms—particularly those in the Sandwich Generation—reclaim their time, space, and peace of mind. I provide personalized home organizing services, hands-on decluttering, declutter coaching, move management, and personal assistant services specifically tailored to moms balancing the demands of caring for their young children and aging parents simultaneously.
What sets my business apart is my genuine passion for empowering moms, especially those feeling overwhelmed by dual caregiving responsibilities. My approach is compassionate, practical, and judgment-free because I understand firsthand the unique emotional stress and time constraints these moms face. Clients often tell me they appreciate how calm and supportive I am throughout the organizing process. I strive to make organizing feel achievable rather than overwhelming.
I’m most proud of building a brand that is approachable, reliable, and caring. Whether I’m coaching clients through decluttering sessions, managing the logistics of stressful moves, or establishing sustainable organizing systems, my ultimate goal is always the same: giving moms the breathing room they need to manage their responsibilities with less stress and more joy.
I want readers to know that asking for help isn’t a luxury—it’s a practical solution that can dramatically enhance quality of life. My services are thoughtfully designed to support moms exactly where they are, offering clear, manageable solutions that create lasting, positive change.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck has definitely played a role in my journey—both good and bad. The pandemic closing my first business felt like incredibly bad luck at the time. However, it ultimately led my family to relocate to Austin, where I’ve found a wonderful community and discovered new opportunities I hadn’t imagined before.
Good luck showed up in small, unexpected ways too. For instance, stumbling across a Facebook post from a mom who needed help managing her laundry felt like pure chance. Yet, that moment became the catalyst for my current business.
Overall, I’ve learned that luck—good or bad—is often about perspective. Each challenge pushed me to pivot, adapt, and grow in ways I might not have otherwise, and each fortunate moment confirmed I was on the right path.
