Hi Anne Marie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m a proud graduate from Texas A&M University with Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I actually started out in McAllen, Texas, working as a registered nurse in a more traditional setting. Everything changed the day I stumbled into a same-day interview for an aesthetics position after a long, exhausting night shift. I landed the job, fell in love with the field, and spent the next six years diving deep into training, refining my skills, and building a career that blends nursing with a passion for helping people feel confident in their own skin. I was ready to be in a larger city with more opportunity. Austin was always my favorite escape—the live music, creative energy, and laid-back vibe had me visiting any chance I got. Eventually, I stopped visiting and made it home. Now, I’m proud to be part of this city’s ever-growing aesthetic scene, doing what I love in a place that truly inspires me. The change has been so worth it. I’ve been able to grow my skills, meet awesome coworkers and clients, and continue to build a career I’m passionate about.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Getting started as a nurse injector definitely wasn’t easy. It’s a highly competitive field, and starting from the ground up meant constantly feeling the pressure to prove myself. Building trust with clients, sharpening my assessment and injection techniques, staying current with trends and new methods, and learning how to market myself—it all took time, patience, and persistence. There were moments when imposter syndrome crept in—and honestly, it still does sometimes. But every challenge along the way has shaped me into who I am today: resilient, adaptable, and always open to growth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a nurse injector at Skin By Deep Roots in Cedar Park, specializing in anti-aging treatments with a focus on natural-looking results. My approach is all about enhancing each client’s best features through subtle, personalized treatment plans. I use a variety of tools—from neuromodulators and injectable hyaluronic acid to biostimulators and collagen-boosting treatments like microneedling and EZ Gel—to create refreshed, balanced outcomes that feel authentic, not overdone.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients. I’m known for creating a safe, welcoming environment where people feel comfortable sharing their goals, and for having a gentle, thoughtful approach to every treatment. I take my time with consultations, really listening and crafting plans that preserve each person’s uniqueness. What sets me apart is my deep commitment to education—not just staying current with the latest and safest techniques, but constantly striving to grow. I was taught early on that education is the one thing no one can take from you, and that philosophy has shaped everything I do in my practice.
How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happiest is the life I’ve built, both personally and professionally. My career as a registered nurse has opened countless doors, and becoming a nurse injector has brought me so much joy. I love helping people feel more confident—whether it’s seeing their smile when they look in the mirror or helping them look and feel their best during life’s most important moments. Being part of someone’s skincare and aesthetic journey is incredibly fulfilling.
I’m also deeply grateful for the unwavering love and support of my husband, who constantly inspires me. And of course, my little weenie dog, Russell, who always knows how to brighten my day. There’s nothing like coming home to that kind of unconditional love.
