Jennifer, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story! I started my real estate journey where I was born and raised in Houston, and after I decided on a change of scenery, I followed my heart to Austin, Texas. My transition to doing what I love the most has been a bit challenging since I took on a new city, however, I am ever so grateful for the opportunity presented to me with the Bodman Group. Upon meeting Denise, I knew I would love to work alongside her. She pointed to me all of the high rise developments she had helped sell and I knew I was in the right place, as I represent a portfolio of about 400 million worth of multifamily assets as a marketing partner on our local MLS. My new mentor, Denise Bodman, is a powerhouse in the Austin real estate scene and it has been an absolute joy to work with her so far. We have several new developments coming up that have entrusted her and the Bodman group to exclusively represent. We assist buyers and sellers all over Austin in all price points. Our team is incredible and have been able to help so many into their dream spaces, in the Austin market, a lot of listings end up on the private market, and compass has one of the largest private collections of real estate in the world. The support I feel is strong despite still servicing both cities, and I cannot wait to see what we do next!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been challenging to learn and truly understand a new market and the neighborhoods but I have adapted rather quickly and know where to find what people ask me to. Whether it’s city views or to face downtown but not be in downtown, or if they want to live by walking trails, or if they want to have a home with a certain aesthetic to it. I say it’s been challenging but it has also been a joy to see a new city through new eyes.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a real estate agent that has been based in Houston, TX and have recently moved to Austin, TX. I help people find their dream spaces and I specialize in selling single family homes and in assisting people rent, I particularly specialize in high rise apartments. I am known for my Houston Premium Apartments brand and I have recently launched an Austin Premium Apartments page. I am most proud of being a real estate agent that takes on a true personalized approach to every single person I meet. I really care about everything you tell me because my work is not light, people trust me to guide them to the place they’re calling home from anywhere from a year to ten years, with the right support and guidance, you’re going to be really happy there for a really long time. Not just because it’s your dream space but also because it’s right by Whole Foods and you told me that you only shop there, or it’s also by Zilker park and every morning, you run 5 miles because you told me it’s a part of your wellness regimen, or because it’s by your friends and your favorite places to dine, because you told me that you thrive in community. Your joy is the most important thing to me and that begins in a home where you’re happy and proud of waking up in every day. That’s what sets me apart as a real estate agent. It’s not just about the glimmer in your eye when you see a place you love but also about the things you told me you needed for this part of your journey. If I’m able to help you find a place where you get both, I am happiest and I am so happy and grateful that I get to be of service to others in this manner.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as having been able to create a life where you’re fulfilling your heart’s desires and helping others to do the same. To be of service others has always been my greatest passion. I’ve learned that through my oldest friends, group projects, and volunteering for causes near and dear to my heart. Near and dear to my heart, is the privilege to be able to assist others into the next step of their journey. It has been such a gift to be able to do what I love, every single day. My job is rather simple, its to educate and protect both homebuyers and sellers along their journey, such to be able to make educated decisions about the market and being able to safely and securely step into the next part of their journey. Which is more often than not, a new home or another space, but being able to help while in one of the most vulnerable times in life, to me that is both a privilege and my definition of success.
