Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Bell Faulkner.
Hi Brittany Bell, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I fell in love with beauty at a young age watching classic films where woman were dressed to perfection from head to toe. I grew up in theatre and dance where I first discovered the transformative nature of makeup. My performance background lead me to study theatre in college then onto New York City where I worked mostly in the Broadway space getting actors ready for red carpet’s and press events. After relocating back to my home state of Texas I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of Austins favorite brands, power-house women and beyond.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been a boring one that’s for sure! An artists path is never linear but you learn perseverance and to be proactive pretty early on. In the beginning I had plenty of “survival jobs” as I put it. I worked in boutiques in NYC, Bars, was a personal assistant– the works! Balancing dream chasing with a day job was always challenging. I never take for granted that makeup is my sole income!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I approach beauty as a form of self-love and expression. I concentrate on fresh looking skin and enhancing natural beauty. I want my clients to look like the most glamorous versions of themselves and no one else! I think what sets me apart from others is my love of people. I’ll always be your biggest hype woman and probably your new best friend!
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
When I was 9 I had a dress-up party where my mom and aunts dressed up all of my friends and I in their clothes. They did our hair and makeup and took photos of us. We paraded down my street for the whole neighborhood to see. Not much has changed, I still love playing dress-up!
