Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Manuppelli.
Hi Tara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Before I opened my company, I was a venue manager for several years. During my time as a venue manager, I also did venue sales, account management, and assist caterers with events. After gaining an immense amount of knowledge, I began Coordinating events. I finally took the risk and launched Lotus Events in June of 2018!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been fairly smooth road. I was extremely blessed with a lot of referrals in the beginning which helped grow my company. Since then I’ve built so many more wonderful working relationships with vendors and venues. Right now my biggest challenge is marketing and social media.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the Lead Planner & Owner at Lotus Events. A Wedding & Events Planning Company, serving Austin and surrounding areas. I think I am well known for my kind and proactive approach. Customer service is extremely important to me. Not only do I want the client to feel appreciated, I also want vendors and guests to feel appreciated as well . Being a team player is key. I am quick to respond and work well under high stress!
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Talking with other vendors in the industry has been helpful. Hearing their challenges and strengths helps me know I am not alone and we truly are all in this together. Especially with the rapid growth in Austin which has changed our industry significantly.
