Daily Inspiration: Meet Kelly Jedele

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Jedele.

Hi Kelly, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Austin to go to the University of Texas. I got my BS in Communication. I had a thriving Mary Kay career and worked part-time while in college. I’ve always had a desire to encourage women through public speaking, community and service. After college I got married and had my daughter right away. Unfortunately, my marriage ended and I got started with various office jobs that led me to sales. That was fun until I got fired in 2009. That gave me the opportunity to start a business. I started Let Kelly a cleaning and organizing company. We now have 20 teams and service over 50 homes a day and have $2M+ in sales annually. I am currently also supporting a cybersecurity company as their chief of staff and just recently started my heart’s passion project of a format to help women move from chaos to success in their lives, business and communities.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Ha! No no no. Each leap forward with my life and business has been a leap of faith with financial challenges. When my daughter was young we would supplement our income with garage sales. I would take the items my clients didn’t want and sell them to help make ends meet. I got the wording to tell my daughter that we need to be in a strategic moment to hold our expenses for the next few months to take us to the next level of what we are trying to do. It was a way of life for us and she got it. I got rejected by several banks when trying to get capital to move us in to an office. Just last year after my dad passed away, both of my managers at my company quit in the same week. Entrepreneurship is NOT for the weak, but dang it it’s satisfying and so very rewarding!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I learned recently that one thing that has made me successful is my leadership style. I have always loved and believed in community. I believe for every 1 woman you help, you in turn help her whole community. With this mentality, I set up my company where we start the day together. All my employees have a place to gather. It gets messy but mostly it’s awesome. We train, connect, celebrate and support each other. It makes us stronger and keeps our employees loyal to each other and the company.

What makes you happy?
I love to salsa dance! I love deep fulfilling conversations that uncover life and humaning. I love reading and learning. I love my daughter and watching her soar, she just graduated college and is starting life.
