Meet Emiya Prince of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emiya Prince.

Emiya Prince

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all began in our home kitchen with the simple aroma of freshly baked cookies. After marrying my husband, Bryson Batch, I discovered an unexpected passion for baking—specifically, an unwavering love for perfecting the classic chocolate chip cookie. One day, after he asked me to make a batch, he took one bite and said, “You have to share these with the world.” That little nudge was the spark behind The Batch’s Bake.

What started as a sweet moment between the two of us quickly turned into something bigger. I began experimenting with flavors, tweaking recipes, and—batch after batch—we knew we were onto something special. A year later, we introduced a variety of signature flavors, and Bryson officially joined me in bringing our dream to life. Just like that, we became a husband-and-wife business duo.

At The Batch’s Bake, we believe a cookie should be more than just a snack—it should be an experience. That’s why we pour so much love and intention into every batch, sourcing quality ingredients and focusing on flavor, texture, and comfort. Our journey has been full of growth, grit, and joy, and we’re so grateful to share that warmth with others, one cookie at a time.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not! It’s been a beautiful journey, but far from smooth—and honestly, we’re still learning every single day. One of the biggest challenges has been staying consistent, especially while juggling everyday life and responsibilities. Finding a rhythm that works for both of us and for the business is something we continue to work on.

The logistics behind starting a business are no joke either. There’s so much more to it than just making great cookies—packaging, permits, marketing, scheduling, sourcing ingredients… it’s a lot to navigate, especially in the beginning. And then there’s the creative side—staying true to our brand and vision while also being open to change and growth. It’s a balance we’re constantly refining. But through it all, we remind ourselves why we started and keep putting one foot (and one cookie!) in front of the other.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
By day, I work as an ophthalmic assistant at an eye clinic, specializing in LASIK, cataract surgery, and glaucoma treatments. It’s a role that goes far beyond the medical side for me. With a background in social work, I’ve always been drawn to the emotional side of care—especially when working with patients who are navigating vision loss or trauma. Those moments are often overwhelming, and I try to be a calming presence, walking with them through their fear and grief. I deeply believe in listening to understand, not just to respond—and I think that’s what truly sets me apart.

Outside of the clinic, I’m incredibly proud to have started The Batch’s Bake, my small cookie business. It took a lot of courage to push past fear, self-doubt, and all the “what-ifs,” but I’m so glad I did. Now I get to pour love into two different spaces: helping people see more clearly in the clinic and creating moments of joy through every cookie I bake.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I believe risk is vital—it’s what stretches us, challenges us, and allows us to grow. Risk opens the door to failure, yes, but also to learning, strength, and success. It’s not always about the big, flashy leaps either. Sometimes, the boldest risks are the quiet ones—like starting something new even when fear is loud.

For me, launching The Batch’s Bake was a huge personal risk. On the outside, it might seem like a small venture, but stepping out of my comfort zone, putting my heart into something so public, and choosing to believe in myself—that was big. Even now, we have moments of doubt. Thoughts like “Will this last?” or “Did we make the right move?” come and go. But I’ve learned that those feelings are part of the journey. And during those times, the most important thing you can do is show up anyway—and show up even stronger.
