Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Spencer.
Angela, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas—small-town values, Friday night lights, and fried chicken after church on Sunday. I love my hometown. After graduating from Midwestern State University with a degree in Mass Communications, I decided it was time I came into my own in a big way: I finally understood and accepted that I was gay. I was excited and nervous to share that truth with my close friends from college. I was about to free myself and live my truth. I’m not sure if I expected open arms and rainbows but what I got was far from that. Their response? “You are dead to us”.
That moment hurt—deeply. But it also clarified everything. I realized the life I wanted would require space to grow, to be fully myself, and to build a chosen family. I didn’t leave Wichita Falls to run away; I left to run toward something. So I packed up, moved to Dallas, and started a new chapter.
Dallas changed everything. Room to breathe. I built new community, came fully into myself, and—most importantly—met Belissa, the woman who’s been my wife, partner, and steady rock for 21 years. Together, we later moved to the Austin area to build a life and start a family. (Spoiler: best decision ever.)
For over a decade, I worked as a corporate securities paralegal for a prominent law firm in downtown Austin, helping entrepreneurs start, merge or acquire companies and even helped take a few companies public. I loved being part of their journeys and seeing them grow. I even worked with a few companies from Shark Tank. I loved what I did….until I didn’t.
Our girls were about to start kindergarten. We decided to build a home in the suburbs so our two daughters—Izzy and Livie—could grow up in a quieter, family-centered community. Once we got into our new home, that decision to move changed everything. I faced longer commutes and sometimes didn’t make it home in time for dinner. Life became significantly more stressful. I wasn’t getting time with my kids. I looked at the stress in my wife’s eyes and thought that something had to change. I wanted the flexibility to pick them up from school, show up for games, and actually be present, not always stuck in traffic on I-35. I took a hard look at my life. What can I change? How can I make money in the suburbs? I had more of a commute, how can I use that to my advantage? So I turned off the radio and used the commute to start listening to audiobooks. That’s when the magic happened.
Those long commutes became my classroom. The very first book was Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Total mindset flip. From there I read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I devoured hundreds of books on entrepreneurship, personal finance, leadership, manifestation, and growth. I got hooked on the idea that your beliefs shape your choices—and your choices shape your life.
Then one day I went to my wife and told her I wanted to start a business. She was shocked but supportive. Through all of it, Belissa never wavered. She’s my ride-or-die, the one who says, “Go try it. We’ll figure it out.” That kind of support is rocket fuel.
After spending months searching for the right opportunity and figuring out how to fund my business, I left the law firm and jumped into business ownership, opening a Two Maids residential cleaning franchise. Over the next six years I learned hard-earned lessons about hiring, systems, cash flow, customer experience, and resilience. I invested heavily in business and mindset coaching (thank you, Coach Karishma) and then became a business coach myself so I could help other owners. Owning a business has taught me some of the hardest lessons of my life—it’s not all wine and roses. You have to be willing to show up day after day, stay committed through the chaos and hard knocks, and embrace the grind with consistency and repetition, even when it’s not glamorous.
It took only a few years to work myself out of the day-to-day operations of Two Maids so I began to look for something new to build. In 2024, I spotted an opportunity hiding in plain sight: events everywhere, porta-potties everywhere… and almost no comfortable, dignified restroom solutions families actually want to use. I had a simple but powerful idea: buy a luxury restroom trailer and rent it out for special events. I shared the idea with a like-minded friend and local business owner one day over a Bloomin’ Onion—because all great ventures start with deep-fried brilliance. His jaw dropped and he said, ‘Want a partner?’ I was all in—because not only did we bring different strengths to the table, we actually made a pretty great team. We bought one luxury restroom trailer to test the idea. Demand blew up. Within months it was clear this wasn’t a side hustle—it was a brand.
My business partner and I leaned in, built systems, layered in tech, and asked the bigger question: Could we franchise this? The answer was yes—and Roamin Restrooms was born under our parent company, Roamin Brands.
Today, we are proud franchisors preparing to open territories across the country in fall 2025. Roamin Restrooms is not just a business—it’s a movement. We’re elevating the standard for portable restrooms by offering a clean, comfortable, and dignified alternative to the plastic porta-potty.
Outside of opening businesses, I’m a certified speaker, trainer, and coach through the John C. Maxwell Leadership Program. Personal growth and mindset work have played such a powerful role in my journey, that it’s become a passion of mine to share those tools with others. I’m currently writing my first book, The Ten Second Shift, which explores the power of quick, intentional mindset shifts that can lead to lasting success. It’s filled with practical strategies for overcoming hesitation, building confidence, and taking decisive action. I also speak publicly to audiences of all kinds—sharing my story to inspire others to pursue their dreams, trust their intuition, and create a life on their own terms. Outside of work, I’m deeply committed to community involvement. I proudly serve as an Ambassador for the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce and have spent the past five years with the Pflugerville Rotary Club, where I’ve had the privilege of giving back—whether it’s volunteering with the Circle of Hope Food Bank, supporting Backpack Friends, or jumping in wherever the community needs a hand. And when there’s a fun charity gala or golf tournament? You can count me in.
My wife, Belissa and I are raising two incredible daughters who keep life fun and full. Izzy is a dedicated basketball player with several tournament wins under her belt—she also plays soccer and volleyball for her school. She’s fierce on the court and focused beyond her years. Olivia, our youngest, is an extraordinary singer with a natural talent that continues to amaze us. She also plays soccer, volleyball and is learning to play trumpet. Both girls have served on student council in their schools. Watching them grow into their passions has been one of the greatest joys of my life. When I’m not building businesses, you’ll find me swimming with my girls, sitting around a firepit with friends on cool Texas nights, and continuing to chase the life I once only dreamed about during those long commutes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but I’ve come to believe that the bumps and detours are where the real growth happens. There have been times when things felt like they were falling apart—business challenges, financial stress, unexpected setbacks—but looking back, each one of those moments led me to something better. Every tough season has brought a lesson, a new connection, or an opportunity I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise. I remember being in an Uber in 2018 telling the Uber driver I was about to open a business and he said something that spoke to me. He said “Stay the course, trust the process”. I wrote it down and this has been on my desk every single day since. It has kept me going. Resilience, faith, and the willingness to pivot have been key to moving forward when things didn’t go as planned. I’ve learned to trust the process, even when it’s uncomfortable. (Thank you Patrick from Uber.)
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Roamin Brands?
Roamin Brands is a franchising company on a mission to redefine what’s possible in the portable services industry. I am the co-founder, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Our first concept, Roamin Restrooms, specializes in delivering clean, comfortable, and elevated restroom solutions. We’ve taken something that has long been overlooked—portable restrooms—and transformed it into a luxury experience people actually appreciate and talk about. Let’s be real: no parent should have to take a child into a hot plastic porta-potty and hope for the best. Traditional portable toilets are often unsanitary, uncomfortable, and—frankly—avoid-at-all-costs. We provide a dignified alternative: air-conditioned, well-lit, private, gender-inclusive restroom trailers with running water, real sinks, flushing toilets, and thoughtful touches. Clean, stocked, odor-controlled, and event-ready. That’s where Roamin Restrooms changes the game.
What sets our franchise apart is not just the quality of our trailers, but our business model and technology. We are one of the very few using an AI-powered operations dashboard with 24/7 scheduling support, lead generation tools, and a built-in CRM and marketing system. Every franchisee receives extensive training, a pre-loaded list of local leads, and direct access to our proven systems for success. We’re also proud that Roamin Brands was founded by seasoned franchisees who understand what it’s like to be in the trenches—we don’t just teach it, we’ve lived it.
Brand-wise, we’re most proud of the reputation we’re building for excellence and dignity in an industry that’s often overlooked. We’re not just offering trailers—we’re offering peace of mind and bringing dignity to personal restroom experiences. And this is just the beginning. Roamin Restrooms is the first of many concepts we plan to launch under the Roamin Brands umbrella, all designed to give franchisees the freedom to grow, scale, and succeed.
What we want readers to know is this: we’re on a mission to change the way people think about portable services, and we’re inviting driven, values-aligned individuals to come along for the ride. Whether you’re planning an unforgettable event or looking for a unique franchise opportunity, Roamin Brands is here to deliver luxury that follows you. How do you define success?
I don’t define success solely by whether I hit a specific goal or checked off an achievement. To me, success is about the growth and impact that happens along the way. What did I learn? What did others learn? Were meaningful connections made? Did someone feel seen, inspired, or supported because of something I did? Did it make me better—and did it lift others in the process? That’s what matters most to me. Success is the ripple effect you create, not just the finish line you cross.
