Rising Stars: Meet Joseph Anthonii of San Antonio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Anthonii.

Hi Joseph, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my YouTube channel in 2016 and posted 3 videos a week for a whole year until i found success in making slime videos. This led me to opening up an online shop where i could sell my slime to my followers. I had become well known for making slime diy videos and traveled the United States for different slime conventions because of it. I was even invited to help set the record for the biggest slime ever made with Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue Company and the Guinness Book of World Records. However in 2021 i realized I was no longer happy creating the type of content i had become known for, and i decided to take a break to re-evaluate my content creation. I came back to content creation in 2023 making flavored water videos aka “WaterTok”. It was an immediate success with each video gaining vitality on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. I decided this time my run on social media would be different. I’m going to create engaging content but i’m going to do it how i want, not just how i previously thought my followers wanted. I have so many passions beyond content creating like acting, and singing. In true Leo fashion I am very ambitious and have decided to do it all. In addition to my Water Of The Day videos i have also released an album titled “Life Of The Party” which charted on Apple Music here in the United States as well as 2 other countries. I’ve also started a boy band named “BOY CODE”. We are an LGBTQ+ group that makes Pop/Rap/R&B music and debuted our music in this years San Antonio Pride Bigger Than Texas Parade. And i’m not done yet, I’m also set to star in a production of Carrie the musical this year in San Antonio, TX. I have a lot going on creatively and that’s just how I like it. This time around I’m doing everything I love all at once. I think that’s definitely helping me avoid content creation burnout. I’m so fulfilled because I’m doing all the things i love and not allowing one thing or the other to fully consume me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been many obstacles along the way. I’d say the two biggest obstacles are burnout and THE COMMENT SECTION. I thankfully have learned how to handle both obstacles, but unfortunately the comment section is unavoidable sometimes. Everyone has an opinion and it’s just important to remember that its only that. An opinion.

What’s next?
My plans for the future is to keep creating in the many ways i enjoy. I want to get better and better at everything that I do.
