Hi Heather, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey into the wedding world started back in 2010 when I began assisting at The Plantation House, which at the time was a beautiful wedding venue and has since been transformed into the cutest little bed and breakfast. From 2010 to 2016, I worked closely with the experienced owner of the venue, where we didn’t just manage the property, we acted as full coordinators for our couples. We handled everything from setting up personal décor and checking in vendors to running the day’s timeline, cueing the wedding party and family, and helping with tear-down at the end of the night. It was during those years that I truly fell in love with helping couples feel celebrated, supported, and stress-free on one of the most special days of their lives, and that spark never faded.
After having my first child, I decided to leave my corporate job and officially chase this passion. That’s when Moments and Milestones was born in September of 2017, and it’s been an incredible since.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy, though. I originally planned to keep the business on the smaller side with just a few team members and myself. But like so many others, things got tough when Covid hit. Inquiries slowed down, and it was a challenging season to navigate. Then, just as we were finding our footing again, we hit another little bump in the road with our rebrand in 2024. Thankfully, with some fresh marketing strategies, continued networking, and a lot of determination, things have started to pick up again. We’re seeing an increase in inquiries and are feeling hopeful about getting back to our goal of coordinating 15–20 weddings a year!

At Moments and Milestones, i’m passionate about crafting personalized and unforgettable weddings and events that reflect your unique style. Every couple has their own style, priorities, and vision for their wedding day, and it’s our mission to help bring that to life in a way that feels effortless, meaningful, and completely special.From your first consultation to your grand send-off, our expert team is dedicated to curating a wedding filled with charm, character, and elegance, while making sure every little detail is covered. Each event is lead by me the owner, and supported by a team of wedding assistants (including two Moments and Milestones brides-turned-assistants!).
What we offer are three packages; coordination, partial planning, and full planning. Our Coordination package is our most popular option and is perfect for couples who enjoy the excitement of planning their own wedding but want to fully relax and be present on their big day. This package also sets us apart as we step in well before the wedding, not just a few weeks or month out. Once you book with Moment and Milestones, I like to get a more detailed meeting set up pretty quickly. This is where we talk about your currently planning and direct/personalized next steps for you to take in your planning. We set a time for when we will talk again (usually 1-2 month out) so we can talk about this steps and continue to keep you on your planning path so nothing is left out and stressful. These check-in meetings every few months, also help me to learn your preferences, decision processes and help nip any issues that may arise early, rather than right before the big day.
As the wedding approaches, we create detailed timelines, layouts, and vendor logistics plans, attend your venue walk-through and rehearsal, and manage the entire wedding day from start to finish. It’s peace of mind and professional support so you, your family, and your friends can simply celebrate.
Our Planning packages offer two different levels of assistance based on how much guidance and vendor support you need. Basically, we do the legwork so you can focus on the fun parts. No need for the scrolling thru social media and wedding sites, we provide you a short list of vendors to choose from who all are available on your date, within your budget, are reliable and professional, and should be a good personality fit for your event. This way you still are choosing your vendors, creating a relationship with them, however not wasting your time.
I’m very proud of the relationships that have been built over the years with our couples, our vendor partners, and our team. It means the world to me when clients tell us how calm and confident they felt knowing we were by their side.
