Rising Stars: Meet Jaybo Viewtiful of NW Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaybo Viewtiful.

Jaybo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Im Christian “Jay” Peltier, performing under the name, Jaybo Viewtiful. Im a music producer, performing artist, studio engineer, and well-versed in media creation technologies. My journey started at 10 when I began playing drums, then 15 when I began learning how to use DAWs. In 2005, I received a Casio piano keyboard for Christmas, and was obsessed with producing my own original music ever since.

I graduated with a degree for Audio Production, and continued building experience to my resume. Mainly, I use social media to connect with people, then everything about what I do leads back to my website.

Currently, I’ve released an EP to show my talents stacked together into one project, called “Enjoy The View”, including a song Im familiar for performing, and two new original songs. My intention is to apply business principles to my personal music creativity, and keep building. I’ve built my own business structure, stay updated on technology, and educate myself frequently on the playing field. Im also apart of the “Fly Renaissance”, a collective of media professionals.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Certainly not. The playing field is constantly changing, requiring constant innovation. The biggest challenge is resource management. I own a lot of digital tools, but they lose accessibility with each update. Most of my career, I used windows computers, and switched to Mac to future proof my works. Another challenge, is converting music from a leisuring dream, to a business reality. The dream began as showing off the music, and has become tracking, strategizing, and maximizing the business side. My website shows every song I’ve published, and I have a clearer picture of how I want to move forward. I want to make sure my music is always accessible, accurate, and truthfully represented.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a music producer primarily. I create from a home studio, with a simple setup to record and play music into. Initially, I took on custom inquiries to provide production that accompanies an artist. I produce Hip-Hop/Rap, with respect towards EDM, trap, dirty south, southern soul. The artists are looking to rap or sing, or some creators need a sound behind the video. I have my own style/sound of creating. I feel like, I’ve heard every song and try to create what I feel is missing from the public taste, get experimental, but also include a contemporary feeling.

As former residents of Gulfport, MS and Corpus Christi, TX, I’ve gotten known locally within each city, by recording and producing music for other artists, pitching ideas into marketing campaigns, and connecting with good people. I’ve been in Austin 13 years, on a similar, but stronger mission. I believe what sets me apart from others in my own industry, is me being who I am, combined with access to pro level technology, and how my final ideas result to high quality. It is me, doing what I do, being captured in a finite media. I want to show others, its possible to be yourself, be raw and damage some sound systems.

How do you think about happiness?
God, Nature, Sunshine, Reading, Fatherhood, Pacsun Era Music. I can’t see them losing essence in my lifetime.
