We recently had the chance to connect with Ro Wavy and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Ro, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Who are you learning from right now?
I learn from everyone and I try to learn something everyday. I think lessons can be taken from anyone. From the people that I have contact with everyday , to a complete stranger. Not necessarily receiving advice but, simply observing someone can benefit you. A lot of people tend to get caught up in their own way of thinking; to the point that, they can’t see what’s right in front of them.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an artist by the name of Ro Wavy. My goal is to combine creativity and life through music. I try to make each of my songs different from the last. Each project, each song, is based on an emotion I felt or an emotion I want my listeners to feel. I’ve recently been featured in projects by Sage Kai and $crewedupbaby. My last project was an R&B album , “From Passion to Pain”. I’m planning on dropping an EP this fall and it’ll be far different from the last project. I hope that my fans and new listeners enjoy!
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom taught me the most about work. Work isn’t just a job, it’s making sure responsibilities are taken care of, it’s doing the things that need to be done, it’s making a way when there doesn’t seem like one, it’s giving a little more when you think you’ve given your all, it’s holding your head high when you want to give in.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I spit my pain through my passion. What I mean by that is, I stopped hiding my pain when I found music. Music gave me a voice and I never want to lose it. As long as I breathe, I think music will always be apart of my life.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Having faith in God and keeping my faith in God. People tend to turn away from God when things are going wrong or forget to keep that relationship with God when things are going right. I’ll always walk by faith.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
When I’m alone. When I’m by myself , I feel like I’m the best version of me. When I’m around others or other people have access to me , there’s always something going on in their life that I then have to deal with. It’s hard to not be at peace when there’s no one to interrupt it. I find peace in solitude.
