Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Pearson.
Hi Kendra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m the youngest of 5 children, born and raised in Austin, Texas. I grew up living just above the poverty line which has a huge impact in my life now. From a young age, I developed a strong entrepreneurial spirit waiting for the right moment to turn my ideas into reality. School always came naturally to me; it was a breeze until high school, where I got sidetracked and changed my course of life. Despite that, I’ve always loved to learn, even if I didn’t always give school the time it deserved. I made the bold decision to move out of my parent’s house as a teenager not a great decision yet I’ve survived. From that point on, I’ve been an entrepreneur at heart, constantly finding ways to make a better life for myself and others. My past inequities in my businesses, childhood trauma and my passion for helping others drove me to break the generational curse of generational welfare, by building generational wealth. I’m a solution type of woman! I have always wanted to find a solution to generational welfare and I did just that. I knew I could break that generational welfare curse through real estate, I loved the idea of helping others build wealth and secure their future through Real Estate. I went to Real Estate school and completed it right away. However, life threw a curveball I ran into some trouble that temporarily halted my progress, delaying my ability to get my real estate license by seven years. During that time, I stayed focused, kept pushing, and eventually went back to apply for my license. I took the exam, passed it and finally received my Real Estate License. Since then I’ve been committed to helping families lease, buy sell and build wealth in Real Estate.
Through it all, I know that with God’s guidance and my resilience, I’ve been able to overcome any and every obstacle that has come my way and I will continue to provide knowledge and help families through any of their Real Estate endeavors.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
“NO” it has not been a smooth road for me. If it was a smooth road I’d prefer it to be bumpy anyway because success comes from failure. Throughout my career, I have navigated stereotypes, limited access to mentorship, and systemic barriers within the industry. Building trust within diverse communities. I have strengthened my commitment to providing exceptional service and representing my community with integrity.
Looking back, I see my path as a series of messes and struggles each one shaping me into the person I am today. Through it all, I’ve learned the importance of perseverance, hope, and the desire for a better future. Taking Life one day at a time while passing out love, kindness and knowledge.
