Marcus, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Last time I felt true joy is every time I go cliff jumping. The feeling of overcoming a challenge, pushing you limits, and facing fear is a truly joyful moment to me. Popping out of the water after doing something scary and having your friends cheering you on and supporting you from start to finish. You look at nature and water differently. You find confidence deep in yourself, make sure things are safe then you lock in, hone courage, and make the leap!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Lefty born and raised from Austin Texas. Ive been skateboarding for. 25 years, DJing for 18 years, an Cliff Jumping for almost 5 years. I DJ frequently in Austin and other cities in the US. I travel as much as I can and when I do i’m always looking for cliff jumping. I compete in Death Diving in North America at places such as River Games, Senderland, & King of the Swamp. Death Diving is a Norwegian style of Diving that has been around since the 70’s, out there they call it Døds. I DJ a few different genres of music including Goth Music like Dark Wave, & Indie Dance, House Music like Minimal & Deep Tech, and Techno like Hard Groove. DJing is my full time job & Diving is my full time hobby. I also collect and sell VHS tapes for fun and as a side hustle. Im currently in the middle of the 2025 summer diving season, and i’m DJing somewhere every week and always looking for more gigs. Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
I would for sure say my Mom, Dad and Brothers: Loretta, Greg, Malcolm, & Maverick taught me the most about hard work, how to be a good person, and how to be a man. Im lucky I have great parents, Grandparents, and brothers that look after me and have always taken care of me. I feel very lucky with the family I have. I also have a ton of hard working friends all over the world and they all inspire me.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I would say the fear of myself is the biggest fear that has held me back. Being self conscious or having self doubt. You can be your worst enemy. That and heights, I used to be super afraid of heights.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
100% Yes. I pride myself in knowing myself and wanting to figure that out at a somewhat young age. I remember in High School once this older girl asked me if I knew who I was? Did I truly know myself? I remember that had a huge impact on me at the time. This friend of mine also introduced me to Hip Hop so I kinda looked up to her haha,
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. When do you feel most at peace?
After a day of not getting injured doing extreme sports
