Rising Stars: Meet Hannah Williams of Austin, Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Williams.

Hannah Williams

Hi Hannah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in Los Angeles, I was surrounded by the arts my whole life. I loved performing and dreamed of being on stage for the rest of my life. I studied acting and singing and picked up the guitar and songwriting at 17. The very first song I wrote shared a story of triumph and reframing my mindset. Little did I know, that thought process would shape everything I pursued going forward! I also started attending yoga classes and felt a connection to my body and sprit that I hadn’t ever felt before.

A natural connector of people as well, after spending many years chasing dreams in LA, my teenage sweetheart-turned husband and I decided to move to Austin, in hopes of a more grounded and peaceful life where we could still make music, build a life and buy our first home.

After making the move in 2005, and immersing ourselves in the music scene, I followed a calling to enroll in yoga teacher training. During the 9 month program, I found an abundance of clarity that offered deeper purpose and growth with my music. I began sharing my discoveries with others hosting “yoga for creativity” workshops, and teaching yoga classes.

I even found deep magical synchronicities while buying our first Austin home! My mindset work was seeping into all that I did and created an energy that was inspiring and infectious. That’s when I started really loving the process of looking at houses, although I did not want to become a REALTOR at that time. My impression was that they were all “salesey” and I wouldn’t want to wear a stiff blazer, or have a picture with my arms crossed, and have anything take me away from my yoga or music dreams.

We had our first child in 2008 and, as for most, it was completely life-changing. I learned so much on my journey, that I wanted to help other moms as well. I began teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga, and really loved being a part of that transformational time in a woman’s life. Some Mamas would come back for their 2nd and 3rd pregnancies as well. It was truly magical.

After over 10 years of teaching, and opening and closing my own yoga studio, I was hired to launch a yoga program in a beautiful wellness center. I gained so much knowledge form the incredible team of mentors, healers and wellness professionals I got to work alongside, as well as deep knowledge of leadership from my incredible boss, and my own managing of 17 yoga teachers, curating the class schedules and events and building an incredibly strong community.

Even though I loved that job, I was still bound by four walls and a cap on my financial growth possibilities. I felt that call to real estate once again. Could I bring all my years of mindfulness work into the world of real estate? Could I make enough money to continue to be a mom and support my other dreams?
Of course I can! Why not?! Moving is one of the most stressful times in a person’s life, and I had mindfulness tools and my own daily practice to ground and center myself, that I could support people through this time; just like supporting women into motherhood, or into growing larger families. Luckily I took that leap, because the following year, the whole world shut down with the pandemic, and the wellness center had to close the yoga studio.

I quickly rose in real estate to a leadership role, helping to support other agents and offering tools and lessons in meditation and mindfulness, I earned the top 20% at our brokerage and was awarded Rookie of the Year, then several years later won the grand Eagle Award, the highest honor at KW, for my dedication to people through support and mentorship.

I spend years taking all the classes, designations and courses to better myself and support my clients at the highest level. I hired a business coach and for years had weekly top-notch coaching, not just in real estate strategy, but also in creating the life of my dreams, and teaching how to truly balance all your desires so you can feel completely fulfilled, not overworked and drained. I loved how my coaches “coached” so much, I asked them where they learned to coach like that?

They said it was all NLP, nuero-linguistic programming. Using words and mindset to create the reality you desire to experience. YES! Now I was truly feeling a full-circle moment. I jumped into a training in January of 2024 and gained practitioner status. Over that summer, I took a long extensive deep dive and came out as a Master Practitioner of NLP, Mental and Emotional Release and Hypnosis. When I am aligned in this way and follow those inspired callings, I seem to get into the right position, right before it’s needed…. Like, getting into real estate in 2019, right before the crazy whirlwind of a real estate market, then got into coaching, right before the market took a downturn.

I had prepared my mindset to weather the storm and had created an additional source of revenue by doing what I’m most passionate about, helping others with their mindset and achieving their goals. Whether that is through buying and selling homes, mentoring fellow agents, working with my coaching clients in personal growth and development or singing and recording songs!

One last thing I’d like to mention that wraps all of this together, is my passion project, Mindfully Austin Podcast. Coming from a desire to inspire positive change in all I do, and have done throughout my various endeavors, I wanted to interview other local heart-centered humans who also hold an intention of uplifting humanity through their work. We host monthly gatherings called, Coffee & CommuniTEA, and are starting to expand into quarterly workshops and annual retreats.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The beautiful thing about struggle, or failure, is that you get to learn and grow from it and hopefully show up even better next time. With my teams, I love to do daily check ins on what we are grateful for, what was a WIN for the day and what was a LEARN, aka a growing opportunity. This helps us stay focused on what matters most, how we grow from challenges, and what we are grateful for.

As I mentioned before, this real estate market had been going very smoothly for until the past year. The struggles in the business have encouraged me to sharpen my skills and get better at having the right conversations to create that win-win opportunity. It’s also allowed me to expand and pour into other passions again as well.

I strongly feel that when you come from your heart and take those inspired action steps, you will always be going in the right direction.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I chose to share about my artist/ creative side because I believe that has been the fuel behind all I do and have done, including yoga, which has fueled my music/ creative side and and that I have done and do!

I had mentioned my years in the entertainment industry previously. I had an all-female blue-rock band straight out of music school that I graduated with honors from in 2001. We had a lot of fun and earned many accolades and endorsements from various companies, Earnie Ball Strings, Dunlop Picks, Daisy Rock Guitars and Get’m Get’m Straps. We also had an incredible management team that had worked with many top names in the industry. Having those endorsements got us invited to play the legendary SXSW in Austin of 2003. We had written all over our touring van “Austin or Bust!” and after 4 flat tires and 36 hours of straight driving, we finally arrived. I had no idea Austin would be a COOL as it was! I expected more flat, dirt and tumbleweeds coming from the coast of So Cal… That trip is what made me want to move here.

I found my yoga voice when I moved to Austin as well. I discovered the spirituality I was always seeking in my yoga practice, but didn’t find in LA. Diving deep into yoga philosophy helped make me a better artist in all ways, and helped me shape who I am today in my real estate career and coaching.

Another part of my creative side is my many years on stage, most specifically being trained from my mentor in Improvisation. His method of teaching was more spiritual and a mindful practice of presence. It wasn’t about trying to be the funniest, it was about being authentic and real and totally immersed in the character you were playing.

This helped me so much in the audition process. I landed a starring role in a major film, that landed me a top level agent. Unfortunately, the film never got made, but I made many connections along the way!

My improvisational style, melding with mindfulness is what sets me apart in all that I do.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
AI is a big topic that is finding it’s way into every area of life. In the creative world, I am very passionate about expression and sharing through one’s authentic SOUL’s voice. We each have a story and we are the only ones who can tell it, or sing or, or say it, in our own unique way. I think utilizing AI more as an assistant to help streamline processes will be a great tool, and, sadly, we will see others that use it in place of their own creativity. I hope we can all learn to know and appreciate the differences and celebrate artistic expression, whether it be through songwriting, art, real estate, podcasts or coaching, we each have that spark and that part of our story and perspective to share.
