Hi Mkali, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey in balloons and event décor over six years ago, with a passion for creating experiences that brought people joy. What began as small projects for family and friends quickly grew into Alexander Reign & Company.
For the past four years, I’ve been working full-time as a certified balloon artist, specializing in intricate designs and large-scale installations. In that time, I’ve partnered with industry leaders, corporations, and community organizations to transform their events into unforgettable, photo-worthy moments.
Today, Alexander Reign & Company focuses on helping brands and businesses do more than decorate—we create impact, tell stories, and design experiences that leave lasting impressions.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges with balancing growth, managing resources, and building a consistent client base in the early years. There were times when I had to invest before seeing the return, and moments where I questioned if I was on the right path.
But every obstacle sharpened my skills and strengthened my business. Those challenges taught me how to be resourceful, how to adapt quickly, and most importantly, how to create a client experience that keeps people coming back. Looking back, I see the struggles as stepping stones that helped me build a solid foundation for where Alexander Reign & Company is today.

At Alexander Reign & Company, we specialize in intricate balloon décor and large-scale brand activations. Our work goes beyond decoration—we design photo-worthy experiences that bring brands, businesses, and community events to life. As a certified balloon artist, I’m known for my precision, creativity, and ability to transform spaces into unforgettable atmospheres.
One of our signature projects was the Happy Holidays Balloon Experience at the Killeen Mall. We transformed the space into an immersive holiday wonderland with themed sections like Candy Cane Lane, Toy Land, and Frosty & Friends. It wasn’t just décor—it was a full experience with interactive photo ops, family activities, and community giveback through Toys for Tots. The event drew thousands of guests and created a holiday tradition that people still talk about.
What makes me most proud, though, is when someone says they knew it was my work the moment they saw it. That recognition tells me the artistry, detail, and signature style of Alexander Reign & Company shine through. For me, it’s about more than balloons—it’s about creating experiences so distinct and impactful that they leave a lasting impression. We don’t just “do balloons”, we create moments that people remember long after the balloons are gone.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is seeing other people celebrated. I believe everyone deserves a moment where they feel seen, valued, and appreciated, and I get to create the atmosphere that makes that possible. Whether it’s a child walking into a birthday party, a couple stepping into their wedding reception, a brand unveiling all their hard work, or employees being recognized for their contributions, I love watching that instant when the room transforms and people light up.
Those reactions remind me that my work goes beyond balloons—it’s about creating experiences that honor people, their milestones, and their stories. Being part of those moments and knowing I helped make someone feel celebrated is what fuels me and keeps me passionate about what I do.
