Check Out Kristine Clark’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Clark.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Winehouse was founded by Jerry Gray, Julio Llop, and myself, Kristine Clark. We wanted to create a place where great wine and genuine connection come together. At Winehouse, guests will find a thoughtfully curated selection of wines from around the world, along with craft beers, mocktails, and elevated shareable bites.

Our space is warm and welcoming, designed to bring people together—whether over a glass of wine, a bite to eat with friends, or one of the unique experiences we offer. From premiere wine tastings and educational classes to private gatherings and live music, Winehouse is more than a wine bar; it’s a community.

We located in the heart of Dripping Springs, in a restored bungalow, Winehouse offers a sophisticated yet approachable setting to enjoy good company, meaningful conversations, and memorable moments.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many small businesses, we faced our share of challenges. From navigating the permitting and build-out process to sourcing just the right wines and curating a menu that felt both elevated and approachable, there were plenty of hurdles along the way. Opening ina rapidly growing community also meant balancing timelines, budgets, and big expectations. But all this ultimately shaped who we are today by pushing us to stay focused on our vision, to be resourceful, and to make thoughtful choices that reflect what Winehouse is all about—creating a welcoming space where people can connect over great wine and good company.”

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Jerry has just completed his WSET 3 certification. His deep wine knowledge—he’s often called a ‘Wine Encyclopedia’—helped us curate the collection we’re so proud of today.
Julio, with over 30 years of chef experience and his roots in Argentina, shaped the menu with food meant to be shared and always thoughtfully paired with wine.
I have a WSET 2 as well as a culinary certification and can be found managing the bar, jumping into the food trailer, or tackling the behind-the-scenes administrative work that keeps us moving forward.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
It’s not easy to find unique properties, and we had been searching for over a year. The space we’re in had exactly what we hoped for—character, charm, and a sense of place that felt right for Winehouse. It really felt like the universe handed us the perfect home.
