With a background in social work and years of leadership experience in customer focused industries, I’ve always understood two things clearly: how people feel matters, and how a brand performs is directly tied to the experience it delivers. That insight is what led me to create Unique Shapewear.
I recognized a major gap in the market between medical grade compression garments and high quality shapewear designed for everyday wear. Women were investing in their bodies through surgery, fitness, and lifestyle changes, yet there were very few brands offering products that were both effective and aesthetically refined.
Unique Shapewear began as a small operation no investors, no big launch just a clear vision and a deep focus on quality, fit, and results. I built the brand through face to face customer interaction, personalized fittings, and strategic use of social media, growing organically into a trusted boutique and e-commerce destination.
Today, Unique Shapewear serves clients across the U.S., including medical professionals and post surgical patients, and is expanding into a proprietary line designed to set a new standard in the industry. My mission is simple: to modernize shapewear through innovation, performance, and trust creating garments that support real bodies, real lifestyles, and long term results.
This is just the beginning. I’m focused on expanding into new markets, partnering with medical and wellness professionals, and establishing Unique Shapewear as a leading authority in body enhancement technology and luxury compression wear.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship rarely follows a smooth or predictable path, and my journey has been no exception. When I started Unique Shapewear, I had no investors, no business mentor, and no blueprint to follow. I had to learn everything on my own from navigating business permits and sales tax regulations, to managing inventory, marketing, and post-surgical garment education. Every step required problem solving, research, and quick adaptation.
One of the biggest challenges was educating customers on the difference between low quality shapewear and true medical grade compression garments. At times, I had to rebuild customer perception of what shapewear really is and why proper fit, fabric, and technology matter for actual results. There were moments of financial risk, inventory shortages, and the constant pressure of being both the face and the backbone of the business.
However, each challenge became a valuable turning point. I refined my business model, strengthened my operations, and built deeper trust with my customers by focusing on transparency, expertise, and real results. These experiences didn’t slow me down, they shaped the foundation of a stronger, more scalable brand.

I am the founder of Unique Shapewear, a medical grade and lifestyle shapewear brand specializing in Colombian fajas designed for post surgical recovery, body sculpting, and everyday wear. While many companies simply sell shapewear, our focus is on results, education, and proper fit based on body anatomy and recovery needs.
Unlike mass market brands, we work closely with clients, one on one ,whether they are post op patients, new mothers, fitness clients, or everyday consumers to ensure the garment they choose supports their journey and delivers real transformation. We also collaborate with cosmetic surgeons, med spas, and recovery specialists to serve as the trusted source for compression garments and post surgical support solutions.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe luck is simply opportunity meeting preparation. There have been moments that looked like luck from the outside such as meeting the right client, being invited to collaborate with a medical professional, or having a video go viral but those moments only turned into results because I was prepared, consistent, and ready to execute.
There has also been “bad luck” unexpected expenses, inventory issues, economic shifts but those challenges pushed me to think strategically, refine my systems, and become a stronger entrepreneur. In my experience, luck doesn’t determine success resilience, decision-making, and the ability to adapt do.
Good luck may open a door, but preparation is what keeps it open. Every outcome in my business has been the result of showing up every day, staying committed to my vision, and being ready when opportunity arrived.
