Hi Lorrie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
About ten years ago, I started thinking about what I’d do if I were laid off or when I retired from my corporate job. I wanted something I’d truly enjoy, so I thought about what I love most—football (both my sons were D1 long snappers at Texas A&M and the University of Nevada), spa days, and travel.
I couldn’t make a living off football or spa days, so I followed my love of travel and opened my Cruise Planners franchise a luxury travel and cruise agency. What started as a backup plan has grown into a successful Millionaire Club business, serving clients in Austin and San Antonio online or by appointment.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, yes—it’s been an incredible journey. The only real bump was during COVID. Luckily, most of my business then focused on all-inclusive resorts and custom trips to Europe, which were easy to refund. Cruises were trickier since most guests received credits, but I didn’t have many booked at the time. I’ve been fortunate to have a good mix of dream vacations that kept my business strong and growing.

I’m a Luxury Travel and Cruise Advisor and proud Franchise Owner with Cruise Planners. I specialize in luxury cruises, all-inclusive resorts, and custom vacation packages to Europe or all over the world.
What sets me apart is the personal attention I give every client—I treat each trip like it’s my own. I’m proud to have built a Millionaire Club–level business doing what I love: helping people see the world in style.
