Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Imparato.
Hi sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I remember in 3rd grade my teacher asking me to help two classmates fighting over a rubix cube resolve this problem. That moment stood out to me and today makes sense to my community that I would leave a peaking Hollywood PR career to pursue my passion of becoming a therapist. I went into the field thinking I would work with kids however, I became fascinated with helping people unpack thier first half a life, the maladaptive behaviors as a kid that kept them safe that no longer serve them as adults. I expanded my knowledge of this, did my own personal work and explored my hero’s journey to build a career as a relational therapist licensed in multiple states. I love applying my own upbringing and work hard play hard, mentally to guide those to live a more quality present life
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been wild adventure. I think about why an athlete cries after an end of the game, even when they win. It is because of the work they put into it. The sacrifice financially, the self-examination and looking at your own blind spots. It also has its twists and turns – academia mode, to get client mode to expand business
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Therapy with Sarah Imparato?
I think what sets me a part from others is how I was raised. I saw to very loving healthy examples of love. I also grew up in Silicon Valley where maybe people had figured out how to have the finances, great body, nice house but couldn’t make peace with their head and heart and their relationships felt transactional and even with themselves. My approach is also wha modern society has lost – great good of humanity. Think about the ocean. It is never the same. Some days big waves, some days sunny. But it is still the ocean. Relationships should be the same. You can’t know love with out suffering. EWe need it al.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
