An Inspired Chat with Britny Lobas

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Britny Lobas. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Britny, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I truly feel like I’m being called to share my testimony. My story of sobriety, near death experience walking away from God and then being truly saved by Him. I would have absolutely been afraid of this before because with sharing your truth there is vulnerability. I couldn’t stand in own my truths before.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Britny Lobas, I am an Austin based pop/rock Artist. My music, rooted in raw honesty unapologetic passion and self-empowerment, fuses cinematic soul with catchy melodies that echo Amy Winehouse and Christina Aguilera.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I almost lost my life to alcohol and addiction in 2022. This moment changed everything for me. I am now 3 years sober and I see the world completely different than I used to. I am so grateful for the good, the bad, and the in between. I’m grateful to be blessed with the gift of life. I’m grateful for forgiveness and love. I’m grateful for the gift of music and that I get to inspire and help others heal through it.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
No one is going to believe in you more than you. So if you want it, go get it.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say what really matters to me is my faith, my husband and family/friends AND sobriety. Music is also a top contender but not my whole identity.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I have been toying with the idea of leaving Austin for quite some time. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and super proud to be. I moved to Austin to pursue music and it has been amazing. BUT the industry has drastically changed the last almost 15 years. You can do music and be quite successful at it, anywhere.
I would move back to Cleveland immediately and surround myself with family and all my closest friends.
