We’re looking forward to introducing you to Millisa Picazo. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Millisa, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I’m most proud of is the life I’ve been quietly building behind the scenes — the person I’ve become through the everyday choices, challenges, and moments that no one sees. As a mother, I nurture not only my children but also the version of myself that is learning, healing, and growing alongside them. As a business owner and private medical aide, I’ve built a life of independence, discipline, and service — a foundation that allows me to step into my fullest potential.
But beyond the visible accomplishments, it’s the inner growth that truly matters: the courage to face my fears, the patience to love myself even when life feels messy, and the commitment to live with intention and authenticity. That quiet, persistent work is what shapes my story, and it’s what I hope to inspire in others — that the real power is in building yourself, even when no one is watching.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Bienvenidos! My name is Millisa Picazo, though most people call me Missy. I’m a woman with many hats — a mama to two amazing boys, a business owner, entrepreneur, master esthetician, artistã, model, medical student, bandmate, fashionista, and proudly San Antonio’s Riverwalk Viscountess.
I guess you could say my career found me — it all started back in cosmetology high school. Once I dove in, I completely immersed myself in the world of beauty. For me, creativity has always been a playground — limitless, bold, and full of possibility. What sets me apart is my mind; I don’t just follow the rules — I create what I see and feel. From facial treatments to lash sets, every creation begins in my imagination and comes alive in my hands. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone feel as amazing as they look.
My skincare brand is a labor of love — all-natural, organic, and personally crafted by me. Every product is tested on myself and perfected before sharing with my community because I believe in it fully. My craft and the people I serve are everything — it’s my joy and responsibility to give my best.
I also work in the medical field, and serving my community while continuing my studies has been a deeply soulful journey. Caring for others teaches me humility, gratitude, and the value of showing up fully.
As Riverwalk Viscountess, I’ve had the honor of joining my court in breaking records this year, raising over $100,000 for Alamo College scholarships to support San Antonio’s future hospitality leaders.
I’m passionate about uplifting my city and being a light in our world. I strive to be a chingona every day, because my sons deserve a mama who shows up fully, leads with love, and does it all for them. My journey is about growth, service, and creating beauty — in people, in my community, and in the life I’m building with intention and heart.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’ve realized that certain parts of me — the parts that held fear, self-doubt, or the need to control everything — have served their purpose. They protected me, taught me lessons, and shaped the woman I am today. But now, it’s time to release them. I’m letting go of what no longer serves me so I can fully embrace growth, creativity, and love — for myself, my children, my community, and the life I’m building. Releasing isn’t losing; it’s making space for more joy, connection, and purpose.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I truly began to love myself. For a long time, I avoided sitting with it, afraid of facing my reality. But when I finally leaned in, I realized that giving myself love was the key. Loving myself became the way I transformed pain into power — I nurtured the parts of me that were hurting, becoming my own medicine. It was a profound mental reset, a moment of reclaiming my strength and my life.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
For a long time, I carried the weight of other people’s opinions, letting them shape how I moved through the world. It took me a few trials but presently, I’ve stepped into a new era — untouchable and fully myself.
I’ve learned to set boundaries, face my fears, and make peace with the past. Today, I live guided by spirit, aligning soulfully with life, and embracing the quiet strength that comes from standing in my own light.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I lived with heart. That I loved loudly, showed up fully, and left every room a little softer, a little lighter. I hope they say I was a woman who transformed her pain into art, her lessons into wisdom, and her journey into a map for others to rise.
I want to be remembered as a mama who inspired her sons, a friend who made people feel seen, and a soul who gave more light than she ever took. A woman who served her community, lifted others, and kept choosing growth, even when it was hard.
If my story is ever told, I hope it’s told as one of resilience, beauty, and quiet strength — a story of someone who never stopped becoming.
