Check Out Rainah Quesada’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rainah Quesada.

Hi Rainah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was young, my family had a small point-and-shoot camera that I loved and took with us on every family trip. I would spend hours looking through National Geographic magazines dreaming about becoming a photographer for them someday so I spent a lot of my time photographing animals and nature. It wasn’t until I lived in Europe in my early twenties that I found a passion for photographing people. When I moved back to the US, I found myself in the wedding industry which led me to where I am now photographing weddings a decade later. It’s been such an honor to be in this industry and to have connected with so many people over the years while documenting stories across the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s been many bumps along the way, but nothing that hasn’t made me and my business stronger, wiser, and more successful. I used to be afraid of failure, I felt that it would ruin everything that I’ve worked for, but over the last 6 months I’ve learned that it’s what not only teaches you but helps you to learn and grow. Challenges are meant to help you push forward and I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in authentic documentation of weddings with an editorial flare. I as much as the next gal love a good vogue article, especially when the pictures look like they belong in a museum. I want my work to feel similarly but with a more lived in feel. I want obtainable and approachable but beautiful and to feel like a work of art. I’m most proud of the work that I’ve created and all the work I’ll have the opportunity to create in the near future. What sets me apart the most from others is the compassion and care that I bring to every wedding, every session, and every ounce of my work. I love love and it’s obvious in all that I do.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I’ve taken a lot of risks with not only my craft but with my business. I’ve moved states, started over, built from the bottom up and have persevered to be the best that I can be as well as making my business the best that it can be. With risk comes reward, though it may not be perfect every time.
