Today we’d like to introduce you to Denzel Jackson.
Hi Denzel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
my journey really started back in 2019. Fitness was always one of the only consistent things in my life, and I knew I wanted to use that to help people. I didn’t just want people working out — I wanted to show them they could train safely, move better, and do it without pain.
As I kept going, I started seeing a bigger issue. Around 2022, I shifted more into holistic health and wellness because I got tired of seeing people slowly losing their quality of life to obesity and the diseases that come with it. I just knew there had to be better, more natural options outside of just medication and surgery — and that was also influenced by my relationship with God and wanting to walk in purpose.
My brand, Etcetera, actually started in 2019 too. From the beginning, I never saw it as just fitness — I saw it as something bigger. An enterprise. Fitness training, stretch therapy, holistic consulting, my podcast — all of it connects under one vision.
I’m still in the early stages, but I’ve learned a lot. I got started right before COVID, so that definitely put some pressure on things financially and with building a client base. But I stayed consistent, kept learning through business programs, self-education, and being around other business owners. I focus on controlling what I can, and having faith that everything else will come together.
Right now, I offer fitness training, stretch therapy, holistic consultations, and I also do speaking on health and wellness.
What really makes me different is my holistic approach. I’m not just focused on workouts — I’m focused on improving someone’s overall quality of life. Helping them move better, feel better, and understand that no matter their situation, they can make progress.
My mission is really to help as many people as possible understand that they have options. There are natural ways to approach health, wellness, and healing that have been around for years — and I want to bring that knowledge back to the forefront and help people actually apply it to their lives.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all — it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
I actually started right before COVID, so that alone created a lot of challenges early on. Financially, things were uncertain, and building a consistent client base was tough because everything kind of slowed down or shifted.
On top of that, just being in the early stages of business, there’s a lot you have to figure out — pricing, marketing, how to consistently bring in clients, and how to deliver real results while still growing yourself.
Another challenge was really getting people to understand the holistic side of what I do. A lot of people are used to quick fixes — pills, surgeries, or just basic workouts — so educating people on a more complete approach to health took time.
But through all of that, I stayed consistent. I kept learning through business programs, self-education, and being around other business owners. And more importantly, I focused on controlling what I can control and keeping my faith strong.
So it hasn’t been smooth, but every challenge helped me grow and get more clear on my purpose and where I’m taking my brand.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Etcetera, is really built around a holistic approach to health and wellness.
What I do is more than just fitness training — I offer coaching, assisted stretch therapy, holistic consultations, and wellness speaking. Everything I do is centered around helping people improve their overall quality of life, not just how they look physically.
What I specialize in is helping people move better, feel better, and build sustainable habits. A lot of people are dealing with pain, stiffness, low energy, or just inconsistency, and I focus on addressing all of that — not just giving them workouts, but helping them understand their body and how to take care of it long term.
What I’m really known for, and what sets me apart, is my holistic approach. I’m not just looking at one piece of the puzzle. I’m looking at the full picture — movement, recovery, lifestyle, and mindset. I also focus a lot on doing things safely and without pain, which a lot of people overlook in fitness.
Another big difference is I genuinely take time to educate my clients. I don’t want people to feel dependent — I want them to feel empowered and actually understand what they’re doing and why.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is that Etcetera was always meant to be bigger than one thing. It’s not just a fitness brand — it’s a growing platform for multiple areas like training, stretch therapy, holistic wellness, and even my podcast. It’s all connected under one vision of helping people grow physically, mentally, and spiritually.
What I really want people to know is that they have options. No matter where they’re starting from, they can improve their health in a real, sustainable way. My goal is to meet people where they are, guide them, and help them build a lifestyle that actually lasts — not just quick results, but real change.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
My faith really influences what I do.
From the outside, people see fitness, stretching, and wellness — but a big part of why I even transitioned into a more holistic lifestyle came from my relationship with God. That’s what pushed me to start thinking deeper about health, healing, and really taking care of the body in a more natural and intentional way.
It’s not always something I lead with in every conversation, but it’s definitely the foundation behind how I move, how I make decisions, and how I approach helping people.
I think that’s also why I’m so focused on long-term change and not just quick results — because for me, it’s bigger than just physical transformation. It’s about overall growth and really taking care of yourself the right way.
