Story & Lesson Highlights with Jody Teiche of Virtual Business

Jody Teiche shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Jody, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Life is busy. We’re all navigating competing tasks we need to do. It can be overwhelming, sometimes. I really like to create as much calm, openness and joy as I can in my mornings, so I meet the day with more clarity, focus, generosity and compassion. My morning routine includes a breathing exercise (I like the 4-7-8), meditation, a heart-opening exercise and then visualizing what I want in my life. This really sets me up for a successful day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jody Teiche and I’m a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, as well as an Energy Medicine Practitioner. My brand is called Teiche Wellness and, under its umbrella, I do both 1:1 coaching, group coaching, public speaking to corporate, as well as women’s groups, I develop courses and am an author of the book, Think and Grow Young™. My passions involve the gut microbiome, where all good and poor health begins, mind mastery (we become what we think about all day), and strengthening the immune system. All three are intimately interconnected.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
For decades, I ran my own PR firm in the entertainment industry in New York City. Called JLM PR, Inc., we represented artists like John Mellencamp, Iggy Pop, The Cure, Russell Simmons, Roger Waters, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and many others. I call my transformation From Rock Stars to Radiance.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Like so many, I heard messages from my parents that led me to believe I wasn’t good enough and that living with a lack mentality was the norm. My parents came from the war era, where food and supplies were scarce for a time. It wasn’t unusual for people from those years to be frugal and protect what they had. How I overcame these beliefs is through the work I’ve done in mind mastery, with Bob Proctor, leaders in this space like Napoleon Hill, Neville Goddard and, more recently, Dr. James Doty. It is a lifelong process and requires consistent reprogramming of the subconcious, which will try anything to pull you back into those old beliefs. I’ve come a long way and, every once in a while, those old demons surface and I have to tell my mind, ‘Thank you for sharing,” and then whisk broom that thought out and replace it with what I want in my life.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
I spent most of my life living inauthentically, doing what I thought I should be doing instead of what felt right for me. It took until my 60’s, believe it or not, for me to find me. A move, divorce, and tragedy preceded this shift. It was the hardest time of my life. And, the most necessary. This journey is an unfolding of my true self and, even during the struggles, it feels so good to be on this path.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
The story I hope people tell about me when I’m gone is that I was a good person, cared about people and animals and left a meaningful legacy that helped move vibrant, good health availability forward for people and animals on a mass scale.
