An Inspired Chat with Sabrina Anderson M.Ed, LPC of Round Rock

Sabrina Anderson M.Ed, LPC shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Sabrina, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
I am currently training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy from the Therapist Education Institute. EMDR is a research-backed approach that helps people process and heal from distressing or overwhelming experiences by supporting the brain’s natural ability to recover. It is really exciting to be implementing new modalities in my practice!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m an individual therapist working with adults around relationship challenges, anxiety, and major life transitions. Much of my work centers on helping people understand long-standing patterns that keep showing up in their relationships and emotional lives. What sets my work apart is how I look at the whole picture, including relationships, emotional responses, and life transitions such as perimenopause, which is often overlooked in mental health care. I work at a steady, thoughtful pace and focus on helping clients feel genuinely understood while making changes that fit their real lives.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
My perspective on the world wasn’t shaped by one single moment. Living in Spain, Chile, and Mexico and traveling to more than 30 countries has given me a deeper understanding of different cultures and the word. Seeing how people live, connect, and cope differently depending on culture helped me understand how much context shapes our emotions, relationships, and sense of self. These experiences taught me to approach people with curiosity, humility, and openness to perspectives different from my own, lessons I bring directly into my work as a therapist.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self to be kinder and more compassionate toward herself. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, and it’s easy to judge yourself harshly, but practicing self-compassion and patience makes all the difference.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My friends would say that what matters most to me are my values, and that they guide everything I do. Some of my primary values are connection, humor, contribution, social justice, and empathy. My values show up in my work as a therapist, shaping the way I support people, foster connection, and help clients approach themselves and their lives with kindness and self-compassion.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I don’t think I’ll have any regrets. I try to live fully and follow my values, even when things get messy or uncomfortable. I see mistakes or missed opportunities as chances to learn and grow, and I try to treat myself with kindness and patience along the way. Living this way helps me stay present and appreciate life as it comes.
