Story & Lesson Highlights with Laura Parsons of Westlake

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Laura Parsons. Check out our conversation below.

Laura, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
When I opened my first retail boutique store!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’ve been an interior designer in Austin TX for 20+ years. I recently opened a brick and mortar store in the Westlake area. We’re currently focusing on residential remodels and home furnishings projects.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
A breakdown in communication weakens relationships, while openness and trust rebuilds them.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You can achieve anything you truly commit to, but it won’t be easy. It takes relentless effort and a lot of prayer.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Kindness!

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Definitely what I was born to do!
