Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Mann.
Hi Mariah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I actually started content creation while working as a leasing agent. At the time, I wanted to highlight fun places to eat and things to do near the apartment community I worked at and show residents that there were so many great spots within just a 10-minute drive. I picked up my phone and started filming, honestly with no idea what I was doing, but I did my best to piece the videos together, and I instantly fell in love with it.
I officially started creating content in June 2025 and decided to rebrand my Instagram page to focus on everything around New Braunfels and beyond. My goal was simple: share the places I was already going, the food I was already eating, and the experiences I was already having. I hoped that one day it might open the door to collaborations, trade-outs, and partnerships with local businesses so my spouse and I could get out, explore more, and support local spots without always spending so much money.
In the beginning, I spent a lot of time reaching out to businesses and brands about things I genuinely wanted to try or share. Not everyone responds, but I’ve learned that if you reach out enough times, even a few yeses can make a big difference, and those opportunities start to build.
It hasn’t even been a full year yet, but content creation has already opened so many doors for me. It’s pushed me outside of my comfort zone, introduced me to places I might never have visited otherwise, and connected me with other creators who share tips, ideas, and encouragement. It’s been amazing to see what started as a simple idea turn into something that brings new experiences, connections, and opportunities into my life everyday.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, the journey has been pretty smooth, but like anything, there are definitely obstacles along the way. One challenge has been learning how to balance opportunities, especially in the beginning when I was so excited that I sometimes said yes to too many collaborations at once. It taught me quickly how important it is to manage my time and stay organized.
Another obstacle can be creative blocks. Sometimes you have a vision in your head, but it doesn’t quite come to life the way you imagined when you’re filming or editing. There are also moments where filming in public can feel a little intimidating and you have to push past the nerves and remind yourself why you started.
At the end of the day, everyone has those moments. I try to remind myself how grateful I am for the opportunities I’ve been given, and that perspective always motivates me to keep going.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a creator, I focus on sharing the best food spots, local experiences, and hidden gems around New Braunfels and the surrounding areas. My content is really about showing people that you don’t have to travel far to find great food, fun activities, and unique local businesses worth supporting. I specialize in short-form video content that highlights what a place is really like, from the atmosphere to the food, so viewers feel like they’re experiencing it with me.
What I think sets me apart is my personality and authenticity. I try to keep my content fun, natural, and relatable rather than overly curated or scripted. My goal is for people to feel like they’re getting recommendations from a friend, not just watching an ad.
I’m most proud of building something from scratch and seeing it turn into real connections, with local businesses, other creators, and people who use my content to discover new places in their own community.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
One of the things I love most about living in New Braunfels is the sense of community and how many great local businesses there are to discover. There are so many unique restaurants, coffee shops, and experiences that make the area feel special, and it’s been amazing getting to highlight those places through my content. I also love that there’s always something to do, from exploring local food spots to spending time outdoors along the rivers.
If I had to pick something I like least, it would probably be how quickly the area has grown. Growth is exciting because it brings new opportunities and businesses, but it can also mean more traffic and busier spots than people might expect in what still feels like a small town. Overall though, that growth is also part of what makes the community so vibrant.
