Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Powell.
Hi Heather, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story began in Austin, where I was born alongside my twin sister and have been lucky enough to call this city home for almost 58 years. Austin has been the backdrop for every chapter of my life: growing up here, graduating from UT, building lifelong friendships, raising our son, and watching the city evolve while still holding onto the people and places that make it feel like home.
Family is my foundation, and community has always been my compass. Some of my earliest Austin experiences came through local institutions: working at Fresh Plus grocery, Texas French Bread, and later as a cater waiter for Word of Mouth. Those years taught me the value of hospitality, hustle, attention to detail, and making people feel cared for — lessons that still shape the way I work today.
I love walking the city, exploring neighborhoods, discovering what is new, revisiting what is beloved, and making new friends along the way. Whether I am around Town Lake, at a favorite restaurant, on a trail, or gathered in someone’s kitchen, I feel most connected when I am out in the community with my family, lifelong friends, and clients who often become friends.
Service has also been a constant thread in my life. From acolyting at All Saints’ Church as a child and volunteering at Brackenridge Hospital while attending Austin High School to volunteering with the Central Texas Food Bank, Project Transitions, Austin PALs and many local charities, I believe in showing up for the community that shaped me.
That same spirit is at the heart of my real estate business. I bring deep Austin roots, a strong local network, thoughtful guidance, and a high level of service to every client relationship. For me, real estate is personal. It is about people, timing, trust, and helping clients make smart, meaningful moves in a city I have loved my entire life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a generally smooth road! I take on hurdles as learning opportunities. Every house, every client every agent on the other side all bring new prospectives and new personalties. It’s up to me to learn how to remain steady, calm and consistent. Having the right team in place is critical, and building a support staff of experienced professionals has been one of my best decisions.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is rooted in relationships, refined local insight, and thoughtful strategy. As a native Austinite raised in Tarrytown and a graduate of the University of Texas, I understand Austin in a way that goes far beyond market data. I know the neighborhoods, schools, restaurants, parks, back roads, and quiet details that give each part of the city its own distinct character.
Before real estate, I spent years at Word of Mouth Catering working alongside Austin’s homegrown businesses, nonprofit organizations, families, and social clients. That experience shaped the way I serve my clients today: with discretion, creativity, organization, and a highly personal approach. I understand that every client, every home, and every move carries its own story.
I specialize in guiding clients through meaningful transitions with clarity, care, and direct communication. Many of my clients are repeat clients, longtime Austinites making their next move, first-time buyers, downsizers, and families navigating important life changes.
What sets my brand apart is the combination of true Austin roots, honest guidance, elevated service, and a strong network of trusted professionals. I am proud that my business reflects who I am: deeply connected, relationship-driven, creative, and community-minded. My goal is to be a trusted advisor and advocate, helping clients make smart, confident real estate decisions with strategy, warmth, and an exceptional level of care.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I love walking around town with friends, exploring our neighborhoods, trails and parks.
