Community Highlights: Meet Ellen And Austin Gonzalez of Rose Roll Off, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellen And Austin Gonzalez.

Hi Ellen and Austin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Rose Roll Off LLC didn’t start in a boardroom.
It was conceived in a hospital room—while sitting in the NICU with our youngest daughter, Josie Rose.
In a season filled with uncertainty, long nights, and perspective shifts, something became very clear: life is too short to build something ordinary. We wanted to create a business rooted in purpose—one that reflected resilience, integrity, and the kind of service people can truly count on.
From that moment, Rose Roll Off was born.
Founded in Florence, Texas, we built this company from the ground up as a women- and minority-owned business, in an industry where that’s still rare. We didn’t have a massive fleet or corporate backing—just grit, determination, and a commitment to doing things better.
Because the truth is, too many people were settling for poor service—missed deliveries, lack of communication, and companies that simply didn’t show up when it mattered.
So we became the company that does.
Rose Roll Off quickly earned a reputation for being fast, responsive, and reliable, serving homeowners, contractors, and businesses who needed a partner they could trust. Whether it’s a roofing job, a remodel, or a major cleanout, we made the process simple—and we stood behind our word.
As we grew, our customers told us something important:
They didn’t just need dumpsters—they needed dependable, everyday trash service they could rely on.
That’s when Rose Disposal Inc. came to life.
Built as a natural extension of Rose Roll Off, Rose Disposal delivers weekly residential trash service with consistency, clear communication, and accountability—the same standards we built our name on.
But we didn’t stop at just providing trash service—we wanted it to stand for something bigger.
That’s why we proudly use “The Pink Cart.”
These bright pink trash carts aren’t just eye-catching—they represent a cause. For every Pink Cart in service, a portion goes toward supporting breast cancer awareness and research, helping fund programs through organizations like the American Cancer Society.
It’s a simple idea with a powerful impact: something as routine as taking out the trash can also help fight a disease that affects 1 in 8 women.
So when you see a pink cart at the curb, it’s more than just trash day—it’s a statement. It’s awareness. It’s support. It’s community.
Today, both companies stand as a reflection of where we started and what we believe in.
We are proud to be a women- and minority-owned business rooted in Central Texas, built through one of the most challenging and defining seasons of our lives. That foundation shaped how we operate—with empathy, urgency, and a deep respect for the people we serve.
From a NICU room to a growing operation serving our community, this business is more than dumpsters and trash pickup.
It’s resilience.
It’s family.
It’s purpose.
And now—it’s pink carts rolling through our neighborhoods, making a difference one home at a time.
Rose isn’t just waste service. It’s a better way to do business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
1. Starting in Survival Mode (NICU + New Business)
We didn’t start with “extra time” or ideal conditions— we started while our daughter was in the NICU. That means emotional stress, exhaustion, and uncertainty were happening at the same time we were trying to build something from nothing. Most businesses don’t begin in that kind of pressure.
2. Breaking Into a Male-Dominated Industry
Waste and roll-off is still heavily male-dominated. As a women- and minority-owned business, we had to:
Prove credibility faster
Be taken seriously in rooms where you weren’t expected
Earn trust from contractors who were used to “the old way”
That’s not a one-time hurdle—it’s ongoing.
3. Cash Flow Pressure & Scaling Equipment
Dumpsters, trucks, fuel, repairs—it’s capital-heavy. Early on, every decision matters:
When to invest in another dumpster or truck
Balancing growth vs. overextending
That constant pressure doesn’t go away quickly.
4. Learning Through Trial and Error
No one hands you a perfect playbook. We had to figure out:
Routing and logistics
Pricing structures that are fair and profitable
Policies that protect your time without losing customers
Some of that came from mistakes—and adjusting fast.
5. Customer Expectations & Difficult Situations
We’ve dealt with:
Late payments
Misunderstandings
Heated conversations
Choosing to show up in person, communicate, and resolve issues—that’s a different standard, but it’s also harder.
6. Building Two Businesses at Once
Most people struggle to build one. We built:
Rose Roll Off LLC
Rose Disposal Inc.
That means:
Different operations
Different customer types
Different systems
All while maintaining consistency in service.
7. Balancing Business, Motherhood, and Life
We’ve been building this while raising young kids, working from home, and staying active in your community. That’s not a side note—that’s a core part of the challenge.
8. Standing Behind our Name—Every Time
When our name is on the company, every missed call, delay, or issue hits differently. We don’t get to hide behind a big brand—we are the brand.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Rose Roll Off, LLC?
About Our Business
At our core, we are a women- and minority-owned waste management company built to raise the standard in an industry that has long been known for inconsistency and poor communication.
We operate two companies—Rose Roll Off LLC and Rose Disposal Inc.—serving Central Texas with both roll-off dumpster rentals and residential trash service. What makes our model unique is that we don’t just specialize in one side of waste—we’ve built a system that supports both contractors and homeowners, with the same level of urgency, professionalism, and care.

What We Do & What We’re Known For
We provide:
Roll-off dumpsters for roofing, construction, remodels, and cleanouts
Weekly residential trash service with reliable, consistent pickup
Customer-focused service with clear communication and fast response times
But what we’re really known for is simple:
We show up. We answer. We follow through.
In an industry where missed calls and missed pickups are common, that alone sets us apart—but we’ve taken it even further by building systems, policies, and a team culture around accountability and respect for our customers’ time.

What Sets Us Apart
There are a few things that truly make us different:
Built from a Real Story
Rose Roll Off LLC was conceived while sitting in the NICU with our youngest daughter, Josie Rose. This business was built in a season that demanded resilience—and that foundation still drives how we operate today.
Dual-Service Model
Unlike most companies, we serve both the job site and the home, allowing us to support our customers at every stage—from construction to everyday living.

Women- and Minority-Owned Leadership
We bring a different perspective into a traditionally male-dominated space, with a strong focus on communication, relationships, and doing business the right way.
Purpose-Driven Service
Through Rose Disposal Inc., we proudly offer “The Pink Cart,” where a portion of every cart goes toward supporting breast cancer awareness and research. It’s our way of turning a routine service into something that gives back.
What We’re Most Proud Of
Brand-wise, we are most proud of what our name represents.
“Rose” isn’t just branding—it’s personal. It represents our daughter, our story, and the standard we hold ourselves to every day. When people see our trucks or our carts, we want them to immediately associate it with reliability, professionalism, and heart.
We’re also proud that we’ve built a reputation where customers don’t just use us once—they call us back, refer us, and trust us. That kind of loyalty isn’t bought—it’s earned through consistency.
What We Want People to Know
We want readers to know that we’re not a large, faceless corporation—we’re a growing, locally rooted company that is deeply invested in our community.

We care about:
Doing what we say we’re going to do
Treating customers with respect and transparency
Creating services that actually make people’s lives easier
And we’re not done.
We’re continuing to grow, expand our services, and find new ways to serve Central Texas better—without ever losing the personal touch that got us here.
At the end of the day, we’re not just in the waste business—we’re in the reliability business. And that’s what people remember.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Resources That Help Us Show Up at Our Best
We’re big believers that how you think directly impacts how you build—and a lot of our growth has come from learning, testing, and applying ideas from some of the best business and marketing minds out there.
A few resources have really shaped how we operate:
Books that influence how we think and market:
Get Different – This one reinforced the importance of standing out in a crowded market and not blending in. It aligns a lot with how we’ve built our brand—different on purpose.
Traction – Helped us think more operationally—systems, accountability, and building something that runs with structure, not chaos.
This Is Marketing – A reminder that marketing isn’t about shouting louder—it’s about connection, empathy, and understanding your customer.
Lean Marketing and The 1-Page Marketing Plan – Both emphasize simplicity and clarity. Instead of overcomplicating marketing, they focus on building a clear path to attract and convert customers.
Building a StoryBrand – This completely changed how we communicate. Clear messaging matters—if people don’t understand what you do quickly, you lose them.
Giftology – Helped shape how we think about customer experience and relationships—going above and beyond in ways people remember.
Entrepreneurs and voices we follow:
Alex Hormozi – His books and content, especially around offers and lead generation, have influenced how we think about value, pricing, and growth. His approach focuses on making offers so strong they’re hard to say no to and building systems that drive consistent leads.
Podcasts and interviews featuring him (like Marketing School and other business podcasts) have been especially helpful in understanding how to scale and think bigger when it comes to building a brand and business.
How These Shape Our Business
We don’t just consume this content—we apply it.
We’ve built a brand that stands out instead of blending in
We prioritize clear communication and simple systems
We focus on customer experience, not just transactions
And we consistently refine our offers and services to deliver real value
A lot of business owners get stuck chasing trends or overcomplicating things. These resources have helped us do the opposite—stay focused, stay clear, and execute.
What That Means for Our Customers
At the end of the day, these tools don’t just make us better operators—they make us better for the people we serve.
It’s why our customers experience:
Faster response times
Clear expectations
Consistent, reliable service
A company that actually follows through
Because we’re not guessing—we’re building with intention.
