Hidden Gems: Meet Fabiola Tsobgny of Briata Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabiola Tsobgny.

Fabiola, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey has been shaped by resilience, curiosity, and a strong desire to build meaningful solutions that can genuinely improve people’s lives. I started my career in quality assurance and regulatory compliance, working across industries including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food, and consumer products. Through those experiences, I developed a deep understanding of operations, problem-solving, risk management, and how systems can either empower or limit people.

As a first-generation immigrant, mother, and entrepreneur, I’ve also experienced firsthand the challenges of starting over, adapting to new environments, and navigating uncertainty. Those experiences pushed me toward entrepreneurship and innovation.

I founded Briata Group with the vision of building practical, human-centered technology solutions powered by AI. One of our main projects today is Aurora Travel, an AI-powered travel intelligence and safety platform designed to help travelers explore the world more safely and confidently through real-time alerts, smart recommendations, and community-driven insights.

What started as an idea driven by personal experiences and global awareness has evolved into a growing company now participating in international events like Web Summit Vancouver, building partnerships, exploring investment opportunities, and expanding our vision across multiple industries.

Today, my focus is on building scalable technology that combines innovation with real-world impact while continuing to grow as a founder, leader, and advocate for more accessible and meaningful AI solutions.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Briata Group?
Briata Group is an innovation-driven company focused on building practical, AI-powered solutions that improve everyday experiences for both businesses and consumers. We operate at the intersection of artificial intelligence, travel technology, consumer products, and intelligent workflow systems, with a strong focus on creating tools that are not only innovative, but truly useful in real-world environments.

One of our flagship platforms is Aurora Travel, an AI-powered travel intelligence and safety app designed to help travelers explore the world more confidently through real-time safety alerts, personalized recommendations, interactive maps, and community-driven insights. Our mission with Aurora is to make travel smarter, safer, and more connected globally.

What sets us apart is our focus on human-centered innovation. Rather than building technology for hype, we focus on solving practical problems people genuinely face every day. We also approach AI differently by integrating it into both enterprise-style operational systems and consumer-facing experiences, allowing us to bridge functionality, personalization, and accessibility.

Beyond travel technology, we are also expanding into AI-powered consumer goods and intelligent workflow solutions that help organizations improve operational efficiency, compliance visibility, and decision-making processes.

What I am most proud of is that Briata Group was built from resilience, vision, and a willingness to create opportunities despite limited resources. As a female founder and first-generation immigrant, building a company capable of participating in global events like Web Summit and developing scalable AI-driven products has been incredibly meaningful.

Ultimately, I want readers to know that Briata Group is building for the future not just by creating technology, but by creating intelligent solutions that people can realistically integrate into their everyday lives.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most about Austin is its energy, diversity of ideas, and entrepreneurial spirit. It is a city filled with innovation, creativity, technology, and people who are constantly building and creating. As a founder, I appreciate being in an environment where startups, investors, creators, and professionals from so many industries coexist and push boundaries. Austin also has a unique balance between business, culture, music, and community that makes it a very inspiring place to grow personally and professionally.

What I like least is that, despite being welcoming on the surface, it can sometimes feel like many people operate within already established circles or networks. Breaking into certain communities, business environments, or relationship ecosystems can take significant effort, especially as a first-generation immigrant and founder building from the ground up. It often requires persistence, consistency, and continuously proving yourself before gaining access to opportunities or deeper professional connections.

At the same time, that challenge has also motivated me to keep building meaningful relationships and creating spaces that are more open, collaborative, and inclusive for others coming from non-traditional backgrounds.
