Today we’d like to introduce you to Zacharij Martin-Ned.
Hi Zacharij, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Starting from a middle-class household, I have always been a creative. From the things I drew, music I listened to, to the way my mind worked – I knew I had a more fluid approach to how the world was, & understand how it worked. My 2 older brothers were a strong influence probably, while my older sister was a direct influence on me educationally & emotionally, being closer to her in age. I moved around a lot due to living in a single parent home, & my mom often being deployed on missions would force us to move between relatives houses. (Korea, Iraq, etc.) This is how I began to know of Central Texas for what it is, and it’s significance in the climate that makes Texas a whole. Moving between the Killeen/Copperas Cove area and Bryan/College Station area mostly, I’ve been exposed to every type of people, music, culture, etc. That you can think of, and it helped me grow and mature through my adolescence. After failed college bids, I finally returned home with a mindset to start something new, while also navigating through the consequences of my teenage years. In that coalescence of life, I realized the space available for uplifting, connecting, & networking with like-minded creatives, musicians, talents that had their mind set on doing more for themselves. I began with graphics, artwork, and creative expression, which led me to starting a media blog known as Zipp Squad Entertainment.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggles I’ve faced along the way have all been self inflicted & my past catching up with me. I was recently incarcerated for a period of 9 months, which set me back, but I believe placed me in the best position for success.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a creative & business owner. I own and operate a media agency/promotion platform known as Zipp Squad Entertainment – focused on connecting, sharing, and networking with industry agents, artists, etc., and connecting them with up & coming talent ready to take the next step.
