Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Trajano.
Hi Melissa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Bluebonnet & Brie started from my love of bringing people together through food. What began as creating charcuterie boards for friends, family, and local events quickly turned into a business as more people started asking for custom boards and grazing tables for their own celebrations.
By day, I work in the multifamily industry, but Bluebonnet & Brie has given me a creative outlet to combine my love of entertaining, design, and community. Today, I create charcuterie experiences for everything from birthdays and weddings to apartment and corporate events. My favorite part is knowing something I created helped make someone’s gathering feel a little more special.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like many small business owners, I’ve had to learn a lot as I go from pricing, sourcing products, and managing inventory to balancing a growing business while working full-time. There have been times when I’ve questioned myself or worried about taking on larger events, but each challenge has helped me grow and become more confident in what I do.
One of the biggest lessons has been learning that running a business is about much more than creating beautiful charcuterie boards. It’s about building relationships, providing great customer service, and being willing to adapt and learn along the way. Every event and every customer has helped shape Bluebonnet & Brie into what it is today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Bluebonnet & Brie, I create custom charcuterie boxes, boards, grazing tables, and event displays for everything from intimate gatherings to weddings, corporate events, and community celebrations. I love creating spreads that are not only delicious but also beautiful and tailored to each client’s vision.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built through my business. Many of my clients become repeat customers, and there’s no greater compliment than being trusted to be part of someone’s special moments time and time again.
What sets Bluebonnet & Brie apart is the personal touch behind every order. I take the time to understand each event and create something that feels unique to that occasion. As a local small business owner, I genuinely care about the experience from start to finish and strive to make every gathering feel a little more special.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I would say consistency has been the biggest contributor to my success. Building a business doesn’t happen overnight, and I’ve learned that showing up consistently, even when things are slow or challenging, makes all the difference. Whether it’s creating quality products, building relationships with clients, or continuing to put myself out there in the community and on social media, small efforts over time have helped Bluebonnet & Brie grow.
I also genuinely care about the people I serve. I want every client to feel valued and every event to be special, and I think that passion comes through in my work.
