Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacob Sklodowski.
Jacob, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We all met at Berklee and quickly started writing. Within a couple of months we had an album’s worth of material. We recorded that and released it in 2023- and after that released a double single in July of 2025. After years of working, we are finally releasing our 2nd album titled “The Great Fires,” which is coming out in a short 4 days. We’ve created our own genre of metal that we’ve dubbed “Boar Metal”. We are also relocating to New York City in this coming September to pursue further goals as a band, and to spread Boar Metal!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest struggles as a band, we feel has been really finding our own path as a new band in a competitive Boston scene. Also, learning industry knowledge ourselves through experience, and experiencing tough obstacles through the extremely intricate landscape of the music industry in today’s age.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We specialize in really coming together in a very collaborative process of writing weird form songs, with angular riffs, very versatile drum parts and vocals. We all in the band recognize how naturally this comes to us as a band, where that isn’t always the case- so it’s something we are very proud of. We truly do craft our own songs that lend themselves to the “Boar Metal” genre name, through that and our passion for always wanting to deliver live 100% in energy, makes us stand out, we like to believe.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Staying true to our sound, which we know we will never compromise. On top of that, promote love and community, and be upfront with our values as a unit.
