Rising Stars: Meet Ana Julia Malheiros of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Julia Malheiros.

Hi Ana Julia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Brazil, and I also lived in Argentina, so I’ve always had a very multicultural background. I think that shaped a lot of the way I see the world and connect with people.

I came to the United States to pursue my Master’s in Business Analytics, and moving to Austin became a really important part of that chapter. Before that, my background was already very connected to social media, creator partnerships, and influencer marketing. I spent years working behind the scenes with brands, campaigns, and creators, and I’ve always loved understanding what makes people connect with content and communities online.

When I moved to Austin, I started sharing content around one of my biggest passions: motorsports. With COTA so close and so many exciting events happening here, Austin felt like the perfect place for that. Little by little, my content started expanding into more of my everyday life: discovering restaurants, coffee shops, local events, sports, and the experience of building a new life in a new city.

Over time, it became more than just posting online. It became a way to build community and share Austin through my own perspective: as a Brazilian creator, someone with a multicultural background, and someone who is genuinely excited to explore everything the city has to offer.

Today, I create content around the things I truly love: Austin, food, sports, motorsports, and everyday experiences. It’s been really special to connect with people through content while also building a new life here.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, but I think that’s part of the experience of moving to a new country.

Pursuing a Master’s in Business Analytics is already a big challenge on its own, especially while adapting to a new city, a new routine, and a different culture. But honestly, the hardest part for me wasn’t just the academic side. It was finding my place here.

Austin is a very welcoming city, and meeting people wasn’t necessarily hard, but building real friendships and finding my group took time. I had to put myself out there in ways that weren’t always comfortable at first. Some of my closest friendships started in very simple ways, like playing padel, meeting people at local events, or even connecting online with other Brazilians who were also living here.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Right now, I’m pursuing my Master’s in Business Analytics, but outside of school, I create content around the things I genuinely love: Austin, local experiences, food, sports, and motorsports.

My background has always been very connected to social media, creator partnerships, and influencer marketing, so even as a creator, I think I bring both sides of the industry together. I love the creative side of sharing my life, but I also understand the strategy behind building communities and creating content that people connect with.

Motorsports is a big part of what I’m known for, and it’s something I’ve been creating content about for a long time. I’ve traveled to races around the world, including São Paulo, Austin, Las Vegas, Miami, Monaco, Barcelona, and Imola, so Formula 1 and racing have been a huge part of my personal life and content journey.

When I moved to Austin, having COTA so close made the city feel even more perfect for me. It gave me a way to keep sharing that passion locally, while also connecting it to my life here. I love making motorsports feel more approachable and fun, especially for women, Latinas, and people who may not have always seen themselves in that space.

What I’m most proud of is building a community by sharing things that feel real to me. Whether it’s helping someone discover a new restaurant, go to their first race, find something fun to do in Austin, or feel less alone in a new city, that means a lot to me.

I think what sets me apart is my mix of backgrounds. I’m Brazilian, I lived in Argentina, and now I’m building a life in Austin. I bring that multicultural perspective into everything I create, and I try to make my content feel personal, useful, and honest.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising is that I’m genuinely obsessed with sports. People usually know about my love for Formula 1 and motorsports, but it goes way beyond that. I grew up around soccer, I love tennis, I follow different championships, and I’m the kind of person who plans her week around games, races, and tournaments.

Sports are a huge part of how I connect with people, travel, create content, and experience different cultures.
