Rising Stars: Meet Daniel Trelenberg of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Trelenberg.

Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been an artist and I studied art in college. I decided to work in Design for a few years I was working there and I decided that I was not happy anymore. One day I got laid off and I just decided to start painting full-time and fast-forward five years. I am now a full-time Painter and I make my living this way creating paintings inspired by Southwest nature.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a struggle of ups and downs. I think the hardest part was just trying to find my market and really putting myself out there asking lots of questions asking lots of places if I could showcase my art.

Staying consistent and true to yourself also is important. Your art style can change and evolve and that’s okay.

I now run a small Gallery space on the east side at Ani’s Day And Night called Day And Night Gallery, and it’s been really cool to involve the community showcase other artists and grow together with them!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am known for my large scale paintings. I primarily paint hieroglyphics inspired by the southwest. I love painting, prickly pear, cactuses saguaro cactuses native plants and animals national parks inspire a lot of my work.

Places like Santa Fe, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma all inspired my work.

I specialize in large scale paintings ,murals and making my way into pattern design.

I think my work is definitely unique because of it. Focus on native Texass and Tana and just the way that I puzzle peace animals together in my composition is really set to me apart from other people’s work..

I’m most proud of just seeing where I’ve evolved over the years and where my work has gone. I’m constantly learning new things new techniques and it’s always fun creating work as an artist.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the art industry staying pretty consistent. I feel like people still value human connection through art. My collectors love knowing that someone is making their piece for them I think it’s really important to story tell and share with my audience how my Commision work.

Another thing that I’m focusing on is my mail club called DaniMAIL. It is a club that I mail physical letters to my supporters each month, encouraging them to color in interactive postcards, which they then get to mail out to family and friends. They also have a chance to win an original Painting each month!

This is a easy way for people to support an Artist without having to buy an original Painting

Pricing:
