Hi Kerry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story started with a passion for helping people feel confident in themselves. I entered the beauty industry several years ago as a lash artist, and what began as a creative outlet quickly became something much bigger. I fell in love with the connection I built with clients and the impact that even small services could have on someone’s confidence.
Over time, I continued expanding my skills, becoming licensed in multiple areas of the beauty industry, including permanent makeup, tattooing, skincare, and advanced lash and brow services. Like many small business owners, my journey hasn’t always been easy.
There have been long hours, setbacks, financial risks, and moments where I questioned whether I was capable of building the life I envisioned. Those challenges ultimately taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting myself.
Today, I am the owner of Rhinestone Lash Studio, where my goal is to create an experience that helps every client feel beautiful, comfortable, and cared for. One of the things I’m most proud of is building a business that reflects my values of authenticity, education, and genuine connection.
Personally, this season of my life has also been one of growth. I’ve focused on becoming healthier, more confident, and more intentional in both my personal and professional life. Through every stage of my journey, I’ve learned that success isn’t about perfection, it’s about continuing to show up, learn, and grow even when things feel uncertain.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful for every client, mentor, friend, and family member who believed in me along the way. Their support helped turn a dream into a career, and that career into a business that I truly love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to navigate uncertainty while continuing to move forward. Building a business requires wearing a lot of hats at once-service provider, marketer, accountant, manager, and problem solver and there isn’t always a clear roadmap.
There were times when I invested in myself and my business without knowing if it would pay off. I’ve experienced slow seasons, financial stress, self-doubt, and the pressure that comes with being fully responsible for my own success. I’ve also had to learn how to separate my worth from my business performance, which can be difficult when you’ve poured so much of yourself into something you’ve built from the ground up.
I’ve learned that success isn’t just about working harder, it’s about working smarter, staying adaptable, and being willing to evolve. As the industry changes, I’ve had to continue investing in education, learning new skills, and finding ways to better serve my clients while growing the business.
Looking back, every challenge taught me something valuable. The difficult seasons strengthened my confidence, improved my decision-making, and reminded me why I started in the first place. I wouldn’t say the obstacles disappeared, but I’ve become better at facing them. Those experiences have shaped both the business owner and the person I am today, and I’m grateful for the lessons they brought with them.
