Today we’d like to introduce you to Synina Villalon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a Texas native, born and raised. My roots run deep here.
I began my spiritual journey over 10 years ago and started practicing more as I began to feel comfortable with my beliefs. I grew up Catholic and watched my grandmother and great mother practice Catholic Folk magic but at the time they didnt label it like things are labeled today. It was something we didnt ask questions about. It just was apart of our tradition or roots. I went from Catholic to Wiccan to Pagan and back around to practicing folk magic. I met my teacher and spiritual Godmother, Sara who is the owner of Texicana Candle Company, about 3 years ago and she took me in and has helped me grow more than I ever imagined. I presented the idea I had to start a podcast and she pushed me to where it is today. I cannot take credit for it all, we are a team and I am only half of the Lonestar Brujas. Our podcast covers topics from Tarot, astrology, holistic healing to paranormal and true crime.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s had its challenges, but only because we built this from the ground up. We are two women balancing full-time jobs, with one of us also owning multiple businesses, all while caring for our families and managing our everyday responsibilities. Along the way, we’ve taught ourselves how to navigate technology, create content, and figure out what works best for us. I recorded the first episode from my car while on my way to work. Every step has been a learning experience, but our dedication, passion, and commitment to Lonestar Brujas have kept us moving forward. We’re proud of what we’ve built together and excited to continue growing, learning, and sharing this journey with our community.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For me, personally, I love being able to share my spiritual journey with others. It’s helped me tab into spiritual gifts that I’ve always had. Im able to my authentic self when I am recording episodes. Having this platform allows me to show people that spirituality is not a one-size-fits-all path. My teacher planted a seed years ago, and that guidance has helped bring me to this point. At Lonestar Brujas, we specialize in teaching others while encouraging them to research, explore, and grow at their own pace. Spiritual and divinational work can be deeply healing and gives people the opportunity to embrace who they truly are in a world that constantly demands their energy. We are passionate about creating a space where individuals feel supported, empowered, and inspired to discover what resonates most with them on their own unique journey. It’s a reminder that anyone can call back thier power as long as they are ready to receive and look within.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have to shout out Sara Luna Gonzalez, owner of Texicana Candle Company and Third eyed mystic. She’s also part owner of Lonestar Brujas. Shes the backbone of our operation and coven. Ive been blessed to be apart of a strong spiritual family including my best friend that has welcomed me with open arms. We share experiences, hold each other accountable and work together to make sure our community has a safe place to go and worship thier saints, ancestors or deities peacefully without judgment. My family and close friends have also been a huge part of my support system. Even if this path isn’t for them, they continue to support what makes me happy and become a better version of myself.
